How do holiday lights work?
When you grab your Christmas lights and plug them in to see if they come on and find out that half or the whole strand is dead, what makes this happen? A series circuit is when the electricity has a one way flow, this is powered by a conductor that runs through one or two components.
The analogy that I choose is lights, because it is close to the holidays I found that Christmas lights are a form of series circuit. When you grab your Christmas lights and plug them in to see if they come on and find out that half or the whole strand is dead, what makes this happen?
The holiday lights are more commonly known as series connection, if you take two bulb, one battery, and wire together they should light up but once you remove one of these lights it goes dark, you can do this with 10 to 20 bulbs in a row but once you remove one bulb from the end or middle they go out. There is a wire inside of the little bulbs that helps prevent the bulb from shorting out, the current runs through the wire and not the filament which makes the lights go out and light up.
