Read the Harvard Business Review article called How to Revise an Email So That People Will Read It. (Links to an external site.)
(Also attached here in case the link fails).
Consider how HBR is advising professionals to compose and revise their business messaging within using email as a tool. But, also consider other tools like social media, especially Twitter with a 280 character limit, texting, print materials, etc.
Now reflect on your own style of communication. How do you think you can revise to improve your own style of communication in order to a) communicate clearly, b) get people to read your messaging, c) communicate effectively.
In this discussion explain how you would go about revising your own messaging to achieve these goals. In your responses. comment on how you think you might help your classmates to also be able to communicate effectively.
Your first response should be a minimum of 100 words, due Wednesday.
You should reply to a minimum of 2 other classmates’ responses with 50 words minimum, due Sunday.
To earn full credit you need to answer more than “I agree” or “good job.” Your discussion replies may ask a clarifying question, may relate and apply to another situation, or you can probe the question deeper. But it needs to have substance in order for you to earn points.
