FMLA Diversity db4
As the new manager of human resources, you remember that during the interview process, your boss (the chief executive officer [CEO]) specifically mentioned that he had heard something about the new Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) that some other local company CEO’s have been dealing with. He asked you to describe it for him, through several examples, how policies and procedures in the firm might change as a result of this legislation.
Make up two examples of how employees with family medical issues may have been legally treated, prior to the passage of the FMLA and how those very same situations would now have to be handled because of the passage of the Act.
For example, you could describe policies, before and after the passage of the FMLA, that deal with situations such as employee pregnancy or family sicknesses that affect the employee’s attendance record.
