Create a 1 page page paper that discusses access to care. Access Care The article highlights Massachusetts’ experience with health care reform especially by examining data on employment in the healthcare industry to ascertain the impact on the health workforce. According to the article, the Massachusetts’ healthcare legislation served as a model for the national healthcare reform legislation passed in 2010. Although the state has achieved almost near universal insurance coverage there have been challenges of growing health insurance premiums, increased spending on healthcare, as physicians are concerned with access to primary care and administrative burdens (Staiger, Auerbach & Buerhaus, 2011). The article indicates that the healthcare reform in Massachusetts has triggered growth of total healthcare employment per capita. However, the growth was primarily based on administrative occupations and patient care support professionals and not amongst physicians and nurses. This is probably because the physicians complained of the administrative burden that the law imposed on them. The program may be costly because of the need to employ more physician and nurses.

Effects of Increased Access to Care on the Providers

Increased access to care will have a great impact on physician who may in turn get dissatisfied with their jobs and perhaps quit. The increased access will promote third party payment arrangements, which largely compromises the independence and integrity of the medical profession. Moreover, the physicians will be subjected to increased government regulation as well as oversight and will mostly be dependent on unreliable government reimbursement for medical services thus resulting into tremendous pressure amongst the practitioners. Patient centered health care reform should be adopted that restores doctor patient relationship thus making physicians the key decision makers in the delivery of care as patients become key decision makers in financial care but not the government.

Compose a 250 words assignment on going deeper into issues related to nutria population size. Needs to be plagiarism free! The death rate of a species is another major factor that affects population size. If a species dies faster than it reproduces, there will be a great decrease in population size. The fourth factor that affects population size is the availability of food and appropriate habitat. Food provides the species with energy and ability to reproduce.

In the video, there are some factors mentioned above that affect population size. Firstly, the birth rate of the nutria is quite high compared to other species. This is because the female can give birth to three litters in a year and each litter contains roughly six young ones. Another factor that affects population size is immigration. This evident in the fur farms in Canada and United States of America, where populations of nutria have drastically increased. Another factor is the availability of food and the appropriate environment. This allows for the growth of the species.

It is my prediction that there will be a decrease and eventual depletion of the nutria population after the land is depleted of the nutrias’ food resource. This is because the nutria will migrate in search of food in other fertile regions. Secondly, the remaining nutria will eventually die of starvation due to a lack of nourishment. Thirdly, the nutria will become pests resorting to scavenging and stealing food from humans.

prepare and submit a paper on the film titanic.

Your assignment is to prepare and submit a paper on the film titanic. Titanic, directed and written by James Cameron, generally is about an old 101-year old woman, who narrates her story to her female grandchild Lizzy Calvert, Brock Lovett, Lewis Bodine, Bobby Buell and Anatoly Mikhailovich. The story was set back in 1912, on April 10, on a ship that was called The Titanic. Rose, a young woman, boards the ship which was leaving with the first-class passengers, Ruth DeWitt Bukater, her fiancé Caledon Hockley and her dear mother. In the meantime, a wanderer by the name Jack Dawson, an artist, and his close friend Fabrizio De Rossi succeed in getting third-class tickets to the ship after winning a game. The old Rose DeWitt gives detailed information on the whole story from time Titanic departed until it’s death on its very first and final journey on the 15th of April, 1912 in the morning at 2:20.

The artists, or rather filmmakers who were behind this movie include: James Cameron (producer), Pamela Easley (associate producer), Al Giddings (co-producer), Grant Hill (co-producer), Jon Landau (producer), Sharon Mann (co-producer), Rae Sanchini (executive producer), James Horner (responsible for the original music), Russell Carpenter (director of photography), Film Editing was done by Conrad Buff IV, James Cameron and Richard A. Harris. Others include Mali Finn (In charge of casting), Peter Lamont (production designer), Martin Laing (art director), Charles Dwight Lee (supervising art director), Michael Ford (set decorator), and Deborah Lynn Scott (costume designer).

Elements of a film can be generally described as the various effects one uses to make a movie more visible and captivating to the people viewing it. In every film, you will find a number of elements put in use. And given that making of films is an exclusive form of art, it contains its own collection of elements and principles as well. Titanic movie won awards for visual effects. Topping the vast effects effort was largely VFX super Rob Legato, who won the Digital field, and a lot of other vendors to what has come to be a landmark in the account of visual effects.

In the above image, the gigantic Titanic ship breaks into two and sinks into the water. Various sound elements have been implemented in this particular scene. Sound elements of water gashing, people screaming, glass breaking, the ship wrecking-have collectively been implemented in the above scene.

In this effect, they would light kin flos with the use of backlights. This would cause the red screen, and then a spill of whichever kind would be a blue spill on the ship and against the red screen. Therefore, in contrast to obtaining a red spill on the screen, it would obtain a blue spill since this was the expected color of the lights when they strike the red. They also had a possibility of lighting the matte without any worry about the spill light. The finest matte was copied on the red layer due to the softness, though it is not as sharp as the green layer.

Digital ocean water was one of the major challenges that they faced. They had to resolve any kind of technical issues, inclusive of the aliasing of the wave pattern, photorealistic models of ocean lighting, the Simulation of wave and whitecap, actual accurate dislodgment from the ship, and a practical ship wake.

research paper on uncertainty reduction theory.

Need an research paper on uncertainty reduction theory. Needs to be 2 pages. Please no plagiarism. The beginning of personal relationships is always faced with a series of uncertainties. Charles Berger, therefore, came up with a theory on how to reduce these uncertainties (Rodriguez, 56). This is for purposes of helping them to anticipate the action of their new friends. This is one of the experiences that I faced when I meet my best friend for the first time. It was very difficult for the two of us to communicate with one another, mainly because none of us knew what to expect from each other. I did not have any idea of what my new friend valued, or did not value. I did not want to speak up, because of the fear that I may offend my new friend, but still, I wanted to express myself. However, through the axioms of the uncertainty reduction theory, I was able to create and maintain a positive relationship with my friend.

The first principle that was applicable to my relationship, was based on the ideas that Berger proposed, concerning verbal communication. This is the first axiom of uncertainty reduction theory (Rodriguez, 56). According to this axiom, an increase in the level of verbal communication between strangers manages to reduce the rate of uncertainty. This was directly applicable to my relationship because I constantly maintained a series of verbal communication with my new friend. The next axiom is non-verbal warmth. An increase in non-verbal communication has the capability of reducing uncertainty. This includes smiles, head nods, hugs, etc.

These were widely used in my relationships, because I constantly smiled at my new friend, whenever we met. The third and fourth axioms involved information seeking and self-disclosures. Under information seeking, the parties to the relationship are involved in looking for information about each other. These types of information include the likes, the dislikes, the culture, the age, and other attributes of their friend. This is important because it would help in creating a relationship that is based on the understanding of the other person. Self-disclosure involves disclosing information pertaining to ourselves to each other.

This was important to my case because I managed to explain to my friend all about my-self, my family, my likes and dislikes. This played a great role in reducing uncertainty between my friend and myself. Due to my self-disclosure, my friend was able to reciprocate and disclose more about himself. This brings us to the fifth axiom which is reciprocity (Baxter and Barbara, 108). Under this concept, when the uncertainty is high, chances are high that there will be a high level of reciprocity. Therefore, by my capability to reduce uncertainty based on self-disclosure, my friend was able to respond banc, because uncertainty was low. It is also important to denote that when uncertainty is low, the level of reciprocity will also below. This was better captured in my relationship.

Finally, the eight axiom is shared communication (Baxter and Barbara, 110). This involved a situation whereby there was a shared network of communication. In communicating with my friend, I was able to use emails, mobile phones, and through social media. This helped in creating a strong bond between us, reducing the levels of uncertainty that was existing amongst us.

In conclusion, by following the above-mentioned axioms, then it is possible to reduce uncertainty in any new relationship. The reduction of uncertainty would eventually lead to the growth of the relationship under consideration.

Role of Men and Women in the Workforce.

I will pay for the following article Role of Men and Women in the Workforce. The work is to be 1 page with three to five sources, with in-text citations and a reference page. In essence, both men and women have had differential work roles in the recent past and credit must be given to the organizational top heads who have realized that it is good to assign tasks based on the competence of individuals, who work for the sake of the organization in the long term. The role of both men and women has drastically changed and the middle tier also needs to be appreciated for the efforts brought forward by the management studies. Therefore productivity comes out as the eventual winner and the organization starts earning respect within the industrial domains. It is indeed an encouraging sign that both men and women are now being treated uniformly – an aspect which used to lack quite a lot a decade back. One can hope that there would be further pragmatic changes in the coming times as well. The need is to have proper arrangements which will help solve the problems in a localized manner, i.e. organization to organization basis.&nbsp.&nbsp.

The bed I gave him was a wooden framed futon with a full-sized black mattress but all one can see of this is one side of the wooden frame closest to the wall where an inexplicable and largely inaccessible hole exists in the mess reaching all the way to the floor – only a few wrappers here and a couple of other pieces of trash. The rest of the bed is more of the same scattered blankets, clothing, and pillows. The desk is recognizable thanks to the computer monitor and keyboard, but these are crowded as well by piles of papers and unopened mail. A standing lamp rises disdainfully out of the boxes and bundles piled up against one wall that hasn’t moved since we moved here more than a year ago and a TV set peeks out from under yet more clothes slung over its top as if it were awaiting valet. I don’t dare peek in the closet for fear of what monsters might exist in there.

At one point in time, I would have thrown a fit for him allowing his living space to become such a danger zone but over the years I have determined that I have other things to spend my energy on. He is uncomfortable in his room but I am allowing him to discover on his own the joy and the relaxation available when one can simply rest in their own quiet, private, clean space – something not at all possible in the room’s current state forcing him to frequently invade his cleaner sister’s room or vacate the house altogether in order to find a place to relax. As long as he keeps his door closed so none of his disasters spills into the rest of the house and he avoids destroying the rest of the house as he has his room, I try to stay out of his business. He had an entire childhood of having to keep his room clean. now that he’s a teenager, it’s time for him to choose when he wants to actually grow up and take care of his belongings.

Provide a 8 pages analysis while answering the following question: Sex Trafficking of Women and Children in Europe. Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide. An abstract is required. Human trafficking is defined as. ‘The recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation. Exploitation shall include, at a minimum, the exploitation of the prostitution of others or other forms of sexual exploitation, forced labor or services, slavery or practices similar to slavery, servitude or the removal of organs” (Rathgeber, 2002 p 154)

Human trafficking is usually understood in most cases in relation to sex work, which mostly involves women and children. According to a report made by the United Nations Office on Crime and Drugs, sexual exploitation is the highest rating kind of human trafficking (at a rate of 79 %) (Rathgeber, 2002). This shows that sex trafficking is rampant not only in major economies like the USA and UK but also as an international crime.

Discussion

Smuggling generally refers to assisting a person to enter into a country illegally whereby the person being smuggled has the consent and pays the smuggler for this service. It involves international movement only. On the other hand, a person being trafficked has no consent of the act and it is therefore in most cases forceful or through the use of deception. It may be internal that is, within a country or international movement where women and girls are trafficked to other countries to be used for commercial sex work to benefit those involved in sex businesses (Weitzer, 2011). This understanding of the difference between human smuggling and human trafficking can assist in knowing the actions to be taken for the victims. Most women who are victims of sex trafficking find themselves behind bars and treated as criminals.

Your assignment is to prepare and submit a paper on statestic. Is Life Expectancy at Birth Differ By Gender? Jassim Alnajjar DSCI Section: 002 Case 2 Semester/Year: Fall -2009 Name: Dr. Marin Sabo

Abstract

Life expectancy at birth is the average number of years a newborn infant would live if the health and living conditions at birth remain same throughout its life. Worldwide life expectancy has risen on average by 4 months each year since 1970. This case study will analyze whether there is a difference in life expectancy at birth for male and female population.

Life Expectancy at Birth

Life expectancy at birth is the average number of years a newborn infant would live if the health and living conditions at birth remain same throughout its life. Since 1970, worldwide, on average there is increase of about 4 months in life expectancy at birth. Further, it has been observed that on average life expectancy at birth for female is greater as compared to male. This paper will analyze whether there is a difference in the life expectancy at birth for male and female population.

The data for life expectancy at birth was taken from US Census Bureau. The main benefit that data shows is that from period 1970 to 2005 female life expectancy at birth is greater as compared to male life expectancy at birth. In addition, the data is chosen so that it can be seen actually that living and health conditions are improving day by day and so life expectancy at birth is improving every year.&nbsp.

Figure 1 shows the comparison of US male and female life expectancy at birth for the period 1970 to 2005. It can be seen from figure 1 that for the whole period of 1970 to 2005, female life expectancy at birth was greater than male life expectancy at birth by nearly 7 years. Therefore, it appears that there is a difference in male and female life expectancy at birth. The average male and female life expectancy at birth for the period 1970 to 2005 was about 71.41 years (SD = 2.33), and 78.2 years (SD = 1.53), respectively.

The research question is “Is there a difference in life expectancy at birth for male and female populations?

The null and alternate hypotheses are

(Female and male life expectancy at birth are equal.)

(Female life expectancy at birth is different from male life expectancy at birth.)

The selected significance level, α is 0.05.

As the sample size (n1 + n1 &gt. 30) is large, the selected test is Independent Sample z-test.

At significance level of 0.05, the two-tail critical value of z is ±1.960. Therefore, the decision rule will be

Reject H0 if z &gt. 1.960 or z &lt. -1.960. Otherwise, do not reject H0.

Using MegaStat, the test statistic is

Z = 14.52

P-value &lt. 0.001 (two-tailed)

Since, the value of test statistic 14.52 falls in right-tail rejection region (greater than critical value of 1.96), thus decision is to reject H0. Therefore, there is a difference in life expectancy at birth for male and female populations.
