Firstly, I would like for you to review the seven roles of school nurses, as outlined in 2008 by the American Academy of Pediatrics (required reading for this week). See if you could think of any way of expanding these roles. Is there anything you’d like to add to the list, 13 years later?
Secondly, I would like for you to propose current issues and challenges that are faced by school nurses today. Make the case and back your argument with an article. For instance, if you might want to talk about the issue of vaccine refusal — make sure you include a data set/article that shows it to be the case.

On January 13, 2020, the WHO Director-General, Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus, released a list of urgent public health challenges that reflects a deep concern that leaders are failing to invest enough resources in core health priorities and systems.
Realizing that each of these 13 challenges is important, I am curious if you could identify and share one that you personally believe to be the most pressing issue to tackle and why. If you care to share an experience of something you have personally done to contribute to this issue, you are absolutely welcome and encouraged to share with the class as well!
Kind reminder to include proper attributions and citations, should you be using data or information from other scholarly publications.
