Prior to your field education experience, you completed an agency learning agreement that outlined potential goals and objectives related to social work practice skills that you sought to acquire during this course.

Like a contract, your agency learning agreement also provided your field instructor a set of criteria that would measure your social work practice skills. For this course, you will undergo a formal evaluation of your social work practice skills.

As you engage in future field education experiences, you will be able to refine and hone the development of those skills.

For this Assignment, review your agency learning agreement and the results of your midterm evaluation. Consider how your field education experience fulfilled the goals and objectives in your agency learning agreement. Reflect on what you would like to gain in future field education experiences.

Note: You should receive your midterm evaluation from your field instructor.

The Assignment (4-5 pages) attached is the learning agreement I completed and the final results of my evaluation:

· Describe whether you met or did not meet the goals/objectives in your agency learning agreement and include the results from your evaluation.

· Compare your learning agreement and your evaluation to critically consider how the two are compatible and how you may approach completing the learning agreement differently next term.

· Describe the social work practice skills you developed.

· Describe potential areas where you might need improvement in relation to social work practice skills, ethics, or professionalism.

· Explain how your next field education experience might address those areas.

· Explain how participation in this course might inform your future field courses, what will you do the same, what will you do differently.

Main Idea: Planning and theories of power are central to the structure and engagement of conflict. 

To engage conflict well, regardless of the context, is only possible if we’re aware of how conflict works. This doesn’t mean that there is a simple solution to every situation. However, it does mean that we’re willing to do what Maya Angelou said and “think twice, speak once.” 

Pausing to plan creates space for processing conflict. And preparation—gaining understanding about the nature of power in conflict, goal setting, and overall structures of engagement—make the possibility of constructive conflict possible. This is the next step in developing our ability to engage conflict well.

THE CHALLENGE: How do you approach conflict?

THE AUDIENCE: Your supervisor / boss. *Prepare your brief with this audience in mind.

THE BRIEF: Prepare a business brief that provides insights into your conflict management style. Begin by taking the personal conflict assessment provided by the United States Institute of Peace (link below). Review your results and, using the readings from the previous week as well as the outcomes of this assessment, synthesize your response to the following questions in the form a business brief.

1. Based on the assessment, how do you tend to respond to conflict? 
   1. What were your results / percentages for each conflict style?
   2. Were you surprised? If so, in what ways? OR, was this confirmation? If so, in what ways?
2. What factors contribute / have contributed to your conflict style? Consider the terms filter and bias from the readings as you answer this question. 
   1. What struggles do you face when addressing a conflict situation?
   2. What strengths do you bring to situations that require conflict management?
3. How can you become more effective in your approach? 
   1. Identify two specifics aspects of conflict management you can focus on to improve your effectiveness.
   2. Provide one specific strategy for improving each aspect.
   3. Provide at least one biblical truth that supports your development in each area and explain the connection.

Business Brief Requirements: A business brief the equivalent of an academic paper but for a business context and audience. For this brief, the format should include a:

• Cover page
• Executive summary
• Headings for key areas
• In-text citations
• Succinct conclusion (3-5 sentences) focused on key insights
• Reference page
• Use of APA Style throughout

Upon successful completion of this module, you will be able to articulate your personal conflict style and approach. This includes identifying:

• Your response to conflict.
• Factors that contribute to your conflict style.
• Ways to be more effective in your approach.
• Biblical connections to support how best to improve your approach to conflict.

The principles of unity and variety apply to all music, regardless of compositional style or historical period.

Now that you are familiar with the concepts in the first section of the course (Basic Musical Concepts), and you have seen how they work on different pieces of music, try your hand, mouse, and ears at how they operate in a music selection that you may not have heard yet:  “Manha de Carnaval” by Sigman and Bonfa.

Assignment #3 Audio:   

Your analysis should include:

• The number of different musical ideas in the piece (for example, can we say that there are two ideas A and B? Or is there only one?)
• The timings (start and stop times) of the different sections of the piece. (Hint: Listen for changes in musical ideas and timbre, for example, points when different instruments come in or give way to others.)
• How unity and variety are exemplified in those sections through the use of:        
• 1. Dynamics
  2. Timbre
  3. Pitch
• Although there are sections that feature one instrument over others, whether you think this is a piece for a solo performer or for an ensemble.
• A list of the characteristics of the musical style closest to the one this piece exemplifies. (Hint: Look at the last lecture in the first section of the course)
• Whether you think this piece serves (or could serve) a specific purpose.
• Whether or not it has any specific connotation(s) for you.

The social ecology approach emphasizes the view that certain social and physical characteristics of neighborhoods and communities influence the likelihood of committing deviance and crime.Imagine that you are in a position as a community leader. 

There are several neighborhoods in your community with: 

•high poverty rates 

•low quality housing 

•single parent households

Develop and submit a personal leadership philosophy that reflects what you think are characteristics of a good leader. Use the scholarly resources on leadership you selected to support your philosophy statement. Your personal leadership philosophy should include the following:

-An analysis of your CliftonStrengths Assessment summarizing the results of your profile

-A description of two key behaviors that you wish to strengthen

-A development plan that explains how you plan to improve upon the two key behaviors you selected and an explanation of how you plan to achieve your personal vision. Be specific and provide examples.
