Final | Accounting homework help

Part 2

Many companies use leases to acquire higher priced assets. Leasing is an important activity for many entities. Presently some leases are capitalized, and some are treated as operating leases. Opponents of this method criticize the accounting treatment because the present models do not meet the needs of users of financial statements; they do not always provide a faithful representation of leasing transactions. One reason is that operating leases are not capitalized. The International Accounting Board has issued a Proposed Accounting Standards Update (Revised) (Links to an external site.) (Topic 842) which proposes significate changes to lease accounting.

Write a five- to seven-page paper, formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center (Links to an external site.). Your paper should cite five of the research links below and include an in-text citation, and a quote from the article. Section heading titles should be centered and in bold.

The links below may be used for your research. If you would like to curate your own resources, you may do so.

In your paper,

  • Identify the present rules for evaluating a lease and whether it is capitalized or not.
  • Summarize the new lease accounting rules.
  • Distinguish the effect these new rules have on the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
  • Differentiate what industries would be affected more than others.
  • Compare the proposed new Type A and B leases.
  • Summarize the effects the Proposed Lease Standards would have on the following: presentation on the financial statements; how assets and liabilities would be computed; the effect to lease expense due to “front-loading;” interest charges; year-end reporting; financial disclosure notes; and income taxes.
  • Interpret the present rules for evaluating a lease and whether it is capitalized or not.

Include an introduction and a conclusion in your evaluation.

The Leasing Final Paper

  • Must be five to seven double-spaced pages in length (not including title and references pages) and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center’s APA Style (Links to an external site.)
  • Must include a separate title page with the following:
  • Title of paper
  • Student’s name
  • Course name and number
  • Instructor’s name
  • Date submitted

Texas court | Government homework help

Texas Judiciary Assignment

Texas has an unusual appeals process for judicial cases. District courts, where trials on matters of fact are held, are separated into different types according to the kind of cases they hear. You may notice when you vote in county elections, there are civil courts, criminal courts, probate courts, family courts, etc.

All these cases are appealed to a court that has jurisdiction in all of those areas. The First and Fourteenth Courts of Appeals, which meet in Houston, hear all kinds of criminal and civil cases.

After that, however, the process splits again. Criminal cases go to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Civil cases go to the Texas Supreme Court.

Go the the Texas Supreme Court website: http://www.txcourts.gov/supreme/ (Links to an external site.)

Use the “case search” feature to find a case called “Mo-Vac Service Company v. Estate of Fabian Escobedo. (18-0852 ),” decided on June 12, 2020.

Fabian Escobedo was a truck driver who worked for Mo-Vac Service Company, a company out of Dilley, Texas, with a fleet of tank trucks servicing oil and gas drilling sites. Escobedo was killed when his rig ran off the highway and rolled over. His estate sued Mo-Vac, saying his death was caused by his falling asleep at the wheel due to fatigue from being “forced to work grueling hours,” and presented pretty strong evidence of reprehensible behavior by Mo-Vac. Because Mo-Vac participates in the state’s workers’ compensation system, though, a 1916 law says that Escobedo’s benefits payable through workers’ compensation are the “exclusive remedy” for this unless it can be proven that Mo-Vac basically wanted the accident to happen and believed that the his death was substantially certain to result from it – a nearly impossible standard for a plaintiff to prove in a lawsuit like this.

Write a 2 – 5 page essay explaining the facts of the case and how the court ruled. What did Chief Justice Hecht say about the court’s reasoning in his majority opinion? What is a concurring opinion, and what did Justice Guzman say in hers? Note the unusual step taken by Justice Guzman in urging the Texas Legislature to take a look at the workers’ compensation law next year. Is that an appropriate role for a judge? Most important: If you had been on the Supreme Court, how would you have ruled and why? [Interesting note: You’ll notice it says “Justice Lehrmann did not participate in the decision” – it’s because she was sick with COVID-19. She’s now recovering)

Psychohistory of kamala harris | psy 371 | Alabama State University

Complete a psychohistory of Kamala Devi Harris (KDH).  Use the GoogleDoc that I uploaded below. Here are the instructions:

1) Complete one Psychohistorical analysis of KDH for one stage.

2) Each student is responsible for being the primary respondent for one (1) stage AND the secondary respondent for one (1) stage. A primary respondent for a stage is the person who completes the psychohistorical analysis for that stage. A secondary respondent for a stage is the person who ‘comes behind’ the primary and ad-libs, corrects and comments on that primary respondent’s analysis. This person is the one who is in charge of ‘quality control’ for that stage.

3) PRIMARY RESPONDENTS: For each stage be sure to provide the following information:

a) Briefly describe 1 or 2 key events or experiences in the life KDH lived during the time frame covered in this stage. Be specific and provide citation and reference info. (e.g., born to an ‘upper middle class’ family; attended school abroad; afforded many luxuries; achieved some very public successes and failures during her career in law; etc.)

select two threads you wish to reply to and address your classmates’ thoughts and ideas. The goal of these two posts is to build on the material provided by your classmates. Thus, responses that simply affirm the thread material are not sufficient. The content of each reply must reflect an excellent knowledge of the textbook reading and interact with both the thread and relevant chapter material. You must support your thoughts and ideas by implementing at least one significant quote from Everyday Bible Study. Each response post should be at least 200 words in length.

Live out what you learn

The Bible is full of information and guidance when it comes to living each day for the Lord. This can include how to act towards our family, friends, strangers and even enemies. Waking up each day and asking ourselves, what are we to do, to be , to pursue, and to learn from our mistakes can be a start. Pastor and Bible scholar Daniel Doriani expresses that, “these questions are related to one’s duty, one’s character, one’s goals, and one’s ability to discern the truth” (Everyday Bible Study, p. 176). To understand how to answer these questions can be discussed in a bible study or with your church community to help you understand.

Genre: The Law

Laws are given for us to abide by and follow, if these laws are broken then there are usually negative consequences. When God sent the Israelites to travel to the “Promise Land”, he gave them a set of laws to take with them. The Israelites were to take these laws and follow them as they settled into their new land. “Behind every law is a timeless principle that will connect the Israelite culture with our contemporary culture” (Everyday Bible Study, p. 186). Jesus’ death will result in a set of new laws to follow. These new laws by God will give grace and mercy because he sent his only son, Jesus, to death and forgive our sins.

 Jesus in the Bible

As readers of the Bible, we have to remember that this story is not about the birth or death of Jesus, but more so God’s work to rescue and redeem his children through the sacrificial death of his only son Jesus. When reading the bible we are to look for Jesus in the stories that are of the sinners, the poor, and the sick. With this we are to redeem ourselves by becoming like Jesus, become righteous in God’s eyes. “We begin to look for ways that the redemptive acts of God in the old testament point forward to the redemptive act of Christ in the New Testament” (Everyday Bible Study, p. 172).

Meaning of the Bible

There is a certain order that some material needs to be followed. The bible is no different, and “when students are patient and the follow the proper order of bible study, finding the meaning of a given verse or passage is typically no difficult” (Everyday Bible Study, p. 161). This chapter explains the strategies and steps on how to successfully understanding the meaning within the Bible. Joining a bible study and talking out the books or verses with other believers can also help a student understand what he or she is reading or studying. Because the bible is not written in a certain order, it is best to follow the ten steps provided in this Chapter.

16: How to Use Multiple Translations of the Bible

When looking at different translations, you can be certain that the wording will be different. However, the meaning is all the same. Different translations help highlight specific emotions in the passage where synonyms are used. When I think of translations, I think of them as different point of views. Comparing and contrasting the same passage of scripture with several translations (formal, functional paraphrase) helps you zone in on the important parts that may not have stood out otherwise. In doing this, there are five tips to keep in mind (1) staying simple, (2) several translations (3) choose translations from formal and functional and/or paraphrase, (4) choose a base translation (preferably functional), (5) color-code the who, what, where, when, why, and how.

31: How to Live Out What You Learn

Application is the goal to live out the message the passage presents. Three approaches to this are: (1) “examine a series of nine questions as they relate to the numerous relationships of your life” (2) “application is the creation of an application narrative” (3) “compares the needs of the biblical passage and my personal needs to the answer provided by God that meets my needs” (p. 176). “The Everyday Bible Study” addresses Daniel Doriani’s four-question method: the question of duty, character, goals and discernment. “When we properly apply a passage of Scripture, we are letting God speak to these desires” (p.179)

32: How to Study the Old Testament Genres: Law

Studying the Law helps bring insight to how the Israelites lives, which is important to remember as we do so. Everything was connected to the Mosaic or old covenant. When Jesus died, He replaced the old covenant with the new which is between God the Father and God the Son. “The Everyday Bible” puts it this way, “In the new covenant, God fulfills both parts of the covenant, as God the Son is the representative for all of humanity” (p. 184). “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood” (Luke 22:20). Paul asserts in Romans that Christians aren’t under the old covenant but the new!

34: How to Study the Old Testament Genres: Wisdom and Poetry

It’s really important to focus on the who, what, when, where, why and how questions when studying the Wisdom and Poetry books. With these books we tend to read through them and grab a nice verse instead of really understanding what it is talking about. Understanding who is talking, who the text is about, what’s going on, when was it written, where was it written, why di the writing feel the need to put the pen to paper and how did it all occur? Poetry can be hard to understand in itself, but when we dive in and really understand it we can learn amazing things.

Information governance research paper | Information Systems homework help

Scenario:

You have recently been hired as a Chief Information Governance Officer (CIGO) at a large company (You may choose your industry). This is a newly created position and department within the organization that was founded on the need to coordinate all areas of the business and to provide governance of the information. You will need to hire for all positions within your new department.

The company has been in business for more than 50 years and in this time has collected vast amounts of data. Much of this data has been stored in hard copy format in filing cabinets at an offsite location but in recent times, collected business data is in electronic format stored in file shares. Customer data is being stored in a relational database, but the lack of administration has caused data integrity issues such as duplication. There are currently no policies in place to address the handling of data, business or customer. The company also desires to leverage the marketing power of social media, but has no knowledge of the types of policies or legal issues they would need to consider. You will also need to propose relevant metrics that should be collected to ensure that the information governance program is effective.

The CEO and Board of Directors have tasked you to develop a proposal (paper) that will give them the knowledge needed to make informed decisions on an enterprise-wide Information Governance program, addressing (at a minimum) all of these issues, for the company.

Requirements:

The paper should include at a minimum of the following sections:

a. Title page

b. Executive Summary (Abstract)

c. Body

i. Introduction (including industry discussion – 1-2 pages)

ii. Annotated Bibliography (2-3 pages)

iii. Literature review (2-3 pages)

iv. Program and technology recommendations, including:

1. Metrics

2. Data that matters to the executives in that industry, the roles for those executives, and some methods for getting this data into their hands.

3. Regulatory, security, and privacy compliance expectations for your company

4. Email and social media strategy

5. Cloud Computing strategy

d. Conclusion

e. References

2. You must include at least two figures or tables. These must be of your own creation. Do not copy from other sources.

3. Must cite at least 10 references and 5 must be from peer reviewed scholarly journals (accessible from the UC Library).

4. This paper should be in proper APA format and avoid plagiarism when paraphrasing content. It should be a minimum of 8 pages in length (double-spaced), excluding the title page and references.

Week 10: essay #2 (final hip hop definition)

You should imagine this final paper as your evidence-based definition of hip hop after having done the readings (and watched the films) for this class. Has it changed? How so? What specific readings influenced your revised definition? You may use parts of your first definition, but this is not a revision of that particular paper. This is a revision of your ideas about the definition of hip hop. Please email me and let me know if you’re confused about this. I’m not looking for a conversion narrative here (“I once hated hip hop, but now I see the light!”) Please try to avoid this. In fact, please try to to limit your use of “I” as much as possible and instead position yourself in company with the experts we’ve read this quarter, supporting your final definition with evidence.

I noticed that a lot of people started their first paper with some version of the sentence: “Hip hop is difficult to define. It means different things to different people.” Please try to avoid this. I’m looking for a perspective, a way into a longer conversation about hip hop that’s been informed by our particular set of readings.

We’ve read a lot of material this quarter about the relationship between history, structural inequality and cultural politics. We’ve also watched several documentaries about how people have challenged institutionalized oppression and fought for a more democratic society. You may want to explore how these previous movements inform (or might inform) hip hop in its present form. In other words, it’s fine to “stretch” your papers beyond just reciting and defining the four (or five) elements of hip hop and instead find a way into the conversation from a particular topic or viewpoint (like the fifth element in general, hip hop as a language, hip hop as visual art or hip hop feminism). Or you might want to organize your essay around a particular artist or song (like Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright” and the Black Lives Matter movement). These are just a few examples, but the possibilities are endless. It’s totally up to you how you want to organize your paper (I’m open to creativity), but it’s important that you have a claim and that you support it with evidence from our class materials.

  • Your paper should be 4 pages in length and incorporate quotations from a range of our readings and films.
  • You do not have to have a certain amount of quotes, but it’s a good idea to shoot for 2-3 per page (minimum).
  • I would encourage you to look over my comments on your first definition, but to also approach this final write-up from your current perspective.
  • If you have any questions or would like feedback as you’re working through your paper, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I will upload all the work before.
