Bootstrap components – four are required: You can pick which ones. I may give extra credit for additional onesWhat is a component? – see the list

  • Topic – anything you choose
  • You must use Bootstrap
  • root directory: bootstrap
  • you can either put the necessary bootstrap css, jQuery, and bootstrap.js files in your bootstrap folder (using css, fonts, and js folders) or use CDNs, or a combination; you can use the regular or the minified version
  • you may use Dreamweaver if you like
  • HTML four files minimum
  • Use CSS rather than deprecated/obsolete tags and attributes
  • have the necessary !doctype, html, head, title, and body tags in the proper places
  • the filename of the first page of your site (usually the home page) should be index.html or index.htm or some other name so that the server will send the page when a URL without the file name is entered in the browser
  • Image files:You must use at least 4 image files. They can be used as inline images or as background images
  • You may use an image file in more than one place. For example, if you have an image named turtle.jpg, you may use this on all the pages, for example as a background image in the footer. This counts as 1 image.
  • If you take an image file from another site, specify in HTML comments near the img tag (or near the specification of the background image using CSS comments) the exact URL of the image from the other site (e.g. saying Google Images is not sufficient) – it must be clear which image is taken from which site.
  • If you are using an image from another site, the proper approach is to save the file to your site and the image reference (e.g. in the src attribute) will then be a relative reference to the file on your site; do not use an absolute reference to the image on the other site (two reasons: the image will disappear from your site if the other site renames, moves or removes the image, and the absolute reference to the other site imposes a small cost on that site)
  • If the image was created by you or someone you know, either in a graphics program or by taking a picture, indicate that in HTML comments.
  • You should not resize images using either HTML attributes or CSS; if you need to resize, do it in a graphics program
  • The image should be responsive, e.g. by adding a class=”img-responsive” to the img tag – see the example at https://www.w3schools.com/bootstrap/bootstrap_images.asp
  • Specify an appropriate value for the alt attribute for all non-trivial images
  • CSS: use bootstrap.css or the minified versionif you choose to add some custom CSS, make the own CSS file, separate from bootstrap.css
  • the link to the custom style sheet must go below the link to the bootstrap.css so that it overrides the bootstrap css file where there is a conflict
  • use CSS for layout rather than tables or a linear layout (a linear layout is one that can be achieved without the use of tables or CSS)
  • do not use inline or embedded styles
  • TextTry to put y our own text. You may use limited text from elsewhere, if you indicate (e.g. in HTML comments) the exact URL of the place where you got the text; e.g. don’t just say Wikipedia – it must be clear what text is taken from what site
  • Have sufficient contrast between text and background so that your text (including visited and unvisited links) is easily readable
  • ResponsivenessSite must be responsive
  • In other words, the layout changes at least once depending upon viewport size: xs, sm, md, lg (Bootstrap 3) or col, sm, md, lg, xl (Bootstrap 4)
  • use bootstrap grid-based classes to make.
  • you may, but need not, specify multiple classes for a particular element so that the layout changes at multiple breakpoints. I may give extra credit for this.
  • Bootstrap components – four are required: You can pick which ones. I may give extra credit for additional onesWhat is a component? – see the list at http://getbootstrap.com/components/ or https://www.w3schools.com/bootstrap/default.asp (the links on the left from Typography through Affix) or the list in Dreamweaver from Insert>Bootstrap Components. Several of these relate to forms so use of the multiple form-related ones will count as 2.
  • The components should enhance the look or operation of the site and be integrated into the site. For example, if you use a navbar, all the navbar links must work and the navbar must be present on every page..If you use a navbar, you may want to make it responsive, so it changes to a “hamburger” icon when the viewed on a mobile device (see the last example at https://www.w3schools.com/bootstrap/bootstrap_navbar.asp )

I really need it before Sunday mid night. i just need a complete version, not really care about right or wrong. I will put some TIPS when i get it before midnight.

Which social media outlets does the company use to reach the customer segment? Discuss elements of their campaign.

Select a product, line of products, or brand from a company of your choice and research the company’s social media marketing strategies. Carefully examine the social media presence for the product. In an analysis (750-1,000 words), identify how the company utilizes social media to promote the product. Address the following in your analysis:

  1. What is the customer segment for this particular product, line of products, or brand?
  2. Which social media outlets does the company use to reach the customer segment? Discuss elements of their campaign.
  3. Examine the customer segment’s response to the company’s social media marketing (e.g., through evaluating user-generated content related to the campaign, sales data for particular products, etc.). Based on that response, how effective are the company’s social media marketing strategies?
  4. Compare the company’s social media strategies to one of its major competitors. What does the company do well to distinguish itself and product(s)/brand?
  5. Finally, recommend two specific strategies for how the company could more effectively utilize social media to better target its customer segment and increase its competitive advantage in the market.

Support your ideas and findings with descriptions of specific social media campaign examples and consumer and market research.

Propose a Regulation (to make things better!)

The Steingraber essay calls for action to resist the corporations extracting fossil fuels.

Consider a problem that we may face in the next five to ten years and think about possible regulations that could be proposed to lesson or solve that problem. The rules, laws, or regulations you come up with may be as realistic or as far-fetched (satire: Eat the Homeless!) as you like.

Examples: deforestation, warming temperatures, G-5, SNS, species extinction, nuclear power plant leaks, plastic refuse, war, refugees, corruption in politics, Air B&B, tourism, terrorism, bicycle parking on campus, grading policies, mandatory wearing of face-masks, etc.

Write a paper, typed, titled (no cover page), double-spaced, 12-point font, stapled in left-hand corner (above your name) on the topic you choose.

This is a thesis-generated research essay. Please underline your thesis statement so a reader can locate it immediately.

Length: 3-4 pages in length (4 pages maximum). The final page is for sources used.

It’s a good idea to write an outline, which helps you to see whether the parts of your essay work together, and if the structure is logical.  You should have 2-4 main points and at least 2 support points for each main point.

Please consult at least three (3) academic sources; at least two of them should be English, for this assignment, and at least two should be of an academic journal-type nature.

For this assignment, please use either MLA, APA, or CMS systems of citation as laid out in the Hacker

text. Be sure to write the system of citation you are using under your name, as the example shows:

Joe Schmoe

APA

As with your first paper, for the majority of your citations, please use signal phrases to introduce these citations. Don’t ignore this stipulation! Read up on the correct usage of signal phrases in Hacker.

Include counter argument in your paper, and then address these arguments to give your paper a stronger sense of academic balance.

Explain the ideological belief systems of a manager who espouses empowerment for the overall agency, staff members, and clientele.

Review the 12 principles presented by Hardina et al. in the section titled “Humans Service Organizations and Empowerment” in Ch. 4 of Management of Human Service Programs. Additional resources may be used.

Write a 1,050- to 1,400-word paper that discusses the principles presented by Hardina et al. In your paper, discuss the principles that characterize an empowerment approach to social service management, and evaluate how these principles are applied to a human service organization in which you are familiar.

Specifically, address the following:

  • Explore what themes from classical management theories (bureaucracy, scientific management, universal management principles, etc.) are utilized with an empowerment approach.
  • Explain the ideological belief systems of a manager who espouses empowerment for the overall agency, staff members, and clientele.
  • Explain the differences between horizontal and top down organizational models.
  • Explain how the concepts of team building and collaboration are met through the use of contemporary management theories.
  • Discuss strategies for consistent evaluation of organizational efficacy that includes strategic feedback from clients, community constituency groups, and staff members within the agency.

Hardina et al. (2007) suggest that an “empowering approach” to social service management is characterized by the following basic principles:                                                                               1. Empowerment-oriented organizations create formal structures to support the participation of clients in organizational decision-making …

2. Empowerment-oriented organizations create partnerships with program beneficiaries in which all parties (clients, staff, and board members) are equal participants …

3. The purpose of client involvement in service delivery is to decrease personal feelings of powerlessness and to improve the quality of, and access to, services …

4. Empowerment-oriented organizations explicitly develop policies, programs, and procedures that can be used to bridge cultural, ethnic, gender, and other demographic barriers to effective service delivery …

5. Empowerment-oriented organizations have top managers who are ideologically committed to the empowerment of both staff members and program beneficiaries …

6. Empowerment-oriented organizations engage in specific strategies to increase the psychological empowerment and motivation of workers …

7. Empowerment-oriented organizations promote the use of team building and collaboration among staff members …

8. Empowerment-oriented organizations encourage staff to advocate for improvements in services and policies …

9. Empowerment-oriented management approaches can only produce effective outcomes when a consistent funding base is available to maintain the organization …

10. Empowerment-oriented organizations involve clients, community constituency groups, and staff members in ongoing evaluation of services and program renewal …

11. Empowerment-oriented organizations act to increase their own political power as well as the political influence of program beneficiaries …

Resolving conflict and dealing with difficult people in the workplace

Topic: Resolving conflict and dealing with difficult people in the workplace

Instructions: The final project requires you to develop a PowerPoint slide presentation for use as a training tool with line managers and supervisors on how to resolve conflict, as well as deal with difficult people, in the workplace. Many organizations hold such training programs at least annually with line management as a refresher in order to ensure that employee conflicts and aggressive behavior are dealt with expeditiously, assertively, and  proactively, in order to prevent such behavior from taking place at work. As such, your presentation should briefly outline (i.e., no more than 2-3 slides) the negative issues associated with allowing conflict in the workplace to go unchecked, and focus the majority of your presentation (i.e., 8-10 slides) on the positive measures, programs, and processes that organizations can/do adopt to mitigate conflict and negative employee behavior in the workplace.

Many organizations have extended conflict resolution programs beyond Human Resource Development (HRD) programs and processes by changing human resource management (HRM) policies and programs to meet the special needs of the new workforce. A growing number of organizations are holding managers formally accountable for resolving employee concerns and/or grievance internally, within their departments. For example, incorporating such goals and objectives into their performance evaluation process. As the HRD manager for your organization, what new training programs and processes would you propose to senior management to develop effective training and conflict resolutions methods that will ultimately lead to a climate in which all employees can thrive within the organization and contribute to its success?   Submission Instructions: Submit your work as an MS PowerPoint (.ppt) presentation. The body of your presentation should include at least 8-10 presentation slides, in addition to a title slide, introduction slide(s), and references at the end of your presentation for a total of no more than 15 slides. PowerPoint presentations longer than 15 slides will not be read after the 15th slide. As such, please ensure that all assignment questions are answered within the first 15 slides, as your grade will be based on the first 15 slides received.

Your grade will based upon your ability to follow assignment instructions, research conducted, effectiveness of the training proposed, critical thinking and analysis, and APA format. Please support your ideas, arguments, and opinions with independent research, include at least three (3) supporting references or sources (do NOT use your textbook as one of the three required references, or encyclopedias,  Wikipedia, unknown, undated, or anonymous sources, such as brief articles from websites), include a reference section (i.e., 1-2 slides), and cite all sources properly in the text of each slide, in accordance with the 6th edition of the APA manual, Chapters 6 & 7.

Develop innovative and sustainable solutions to strategic and global operations management challenges.

This assignment helps you develop the skills to master the following course competencies:

  • Develop innovative and sustainable solutions to strategic and global operations management challenges.
  • Apply theories, models, and practices of global operations management to address business problems.
  • Communicate in a manner that is professional and consistent with expectations for members of the business professions.

Overview

In your assignments throughout this course, you will build an operations improvement plan (OIP) for a company of your choice that is facing, or recently faced, an operations challenge. If you have not already done so, take some time now to read all of the assignments for this course. Each of the first five assignments represents a component of a typical OIP. For the Unit 6 assignment, you will improve, revise, and compile your work to deliver a finalized OIP, incorporating updates and focusing on the message you want to deliver to the organizational leaders at the company.

With this first assignment, you will choose your company and state the specific challenge it is facing. You will also need to identify two organizational processes that you believe would be worth addressing.

The assigned readings for this course are a starting point for your research, but it will be necessary for you to conduct further independent research on the subject in order to build your OIP. The Capella library is a recommended source of scholarly and professional information on the subject. You may also wish to use the Wall Street Journal.

Guidelines for Choosing a Client Company

The organization you choose to research and to build your operations improvement plan for in this course will be referred to as your client company. What type of company and challenge will suit your project in this course? Read the instructions for the Unit 6 assignment, Operations Improvement Plan, before selecting your client company. Below are a few other guidelines for choosing a company that is likely to be successful for this project:

  •  You may choose any organization that offers some kind of products or services, as long as:
    • The organization is large and/or complex enough to require strategic operations management processes.
    • You can find sufficient information about the organization to fulfill the tasks outlined in the Unit 6 Operations Improvement Plan instructions.
    • If you choose an organization that you have worked for, or are personally connected to, be sure to follow the privacy guidelines of that organization. Contact your instructor if you have questions.
  • Your client company should be facing a challenge that suits the objectives of the operations improvement plan.
  • It may be easier to choose a client company in the mechanical or automotive industries, because they may be more similar to the corporations you will study in our required course readings. However, this is not a requirement.

Instructions

For this assignment, complete the following. Your analyses should be as thorough as possible. Be sure to cite your resources for this information.

  1. Identify a company and a challenge that warrant an operations improvement plan (OIP).
  2. Using your preliminary research, identify at least two of your client company’s existing organizational processes at the time of the problem that require operational improvement. You will develop an OIP that would replace one or more of these processes. For this assignment, your task is to pick the processes best suited to your OIP.
    • Importance: What is the importance of the process to the organization?
  3. Analyze the impact of the existing process on the organization, currently:
    • Scope: What is the scope of each process you intend to change? What is the breadth of its reach?
    • Parties involved: What customers, as well as internal and external suppliers, are affected by this process?
    • Priority: What is the timeliness or urgency for resolving the issues involved in this process?

Submission Requirements

  • Written communication: Written communication should be free of errors that detract from the overall message.
  • APA formatting: Resources and citations should be formatted according to current APA style and formatting standards.
  • Resources: Minimum of 2 sources required.
  • Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point.

Based on your research, select the type of HRIS that you plan to implement for your client. Analyze two (2) of the system’s offerings that you believe would be best suited to addressing your client’s needs.

Now that you assessed the business, identified some of the inefficient HR related processes plaguing Gladwell Grocery Stores, and pinpointed a few possible solutions, it is time to choose an HRIS application that will suit the business. In this assignment, you will consider the HR function you chose in Phase I, and recommend the type of HRIS that you believe would be the most efficient for addressing this function.

To prepare for this assignment, review the Gladwell Grocery Stores case scenario, and then research potential HRIS types and HRIS vendors that may suit the needs for Mr. Bell and Gladwell Grocery Stores.

Write a three to four (3-4) page paper in which you:

HRIS Needs Assessment

1.    Prioritize the top three (3) benefits that an HRIS will offer the business, and explain your position. Next, examine the effect of automation on creating a more efficient process for the HR function chosen in Phase I.

Choose HRIS Type

1.    Based on your research, select the type of HRIS that you plan to implement for your client. Analyze two (2) of the system’s offerings that you believe would be best suited to addressing your client’s needs. Then, assess two (2) ways that the selected HRIS can improve efficiency for the HR function you chose in Phase I. Defend your decisions with theory and findings from past readings and class activities.

Choose HRIS Vendor

1.    Now that you know the type of HRIS you will be implementing, it is time to choose an HRIS vendor. Compare and contrast two (2) vendors, including a description of the cost, capabilities, and HR functions that the HRIS caters to. Based on your comparison, choose the HRIS vendor that you will recommend to your client, and explain the main reason why you decided to choose this vendor over the others.

2.    Use at least (3) quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar Websites do not qualify as academic resources.
