prepare and submit a paper on obstacles and vegetation on flood flows.

Your assignment is to prepare and submit a paper on obstacles and vegetation on flood flows. The measurement of the force will be undertaken at different velocities and depths of water as well as at a constant rate of the flow (the strain gauge will be at a fixed point. otherwise the measurements are not reliable). Basing on the results, it was observed that the fixed cylinder’s drag force coefficient was seen to decrease with an increase in the flow’s Reynolds number. In the case of laminar flow, it was observed that the drag coefficient increased to a big extent. For the case of when the other cylinder was not fixed when positioned side by side, it was observed that the distance between it and the fixed cylinder had an effect on the flow, that is, when the distance between the two was decreased, the effect on the flow was similar to as if it was one cylinder. When the cylinder was placed directly in front of the fixed cylinder, it was observed that the drag coefficient increased with a decrease in the flow’s Reynolds number.

The research topic is based on the obstacles and vegetation in flood flow. In this case, the flow of water on the fixed cylinder with the other cylinder placed at different positions around this fixed one was studied. By so doing this, the aim was to try and understand the effects that surround this fixed cylinder either in the presence or absence of the other cylinder placed around it at varying positions. This experiment set simulates the real-life incidence related to the obstacles and vegetation in flood flows. There are several obstacles and vegetation in blood flow observed in most parts of the world. The detail on the way either the obstacle or flow is affected is considered to be very critical regardless of where the obstacle is located.

Floods are known to cost lives including homes and cities. Therefore, this justifies the need for studying flood flow where the effects related to blood flow or the vegetation and obstacles are determined. This might contribute to the reduction of the impacts caused by these natural disasters which are considered to be so challenging in terms of management, more so by the developing countries. Another merit of understanding the relationship between the flood flow and the obstacles is that it enables the construction of barriers to enable early preparation of the floods that have been predicted. In relation to this, research of this kind can contribute to the determination of the most prone areas that need quick attention since the flow does affect foundations for structural piles. This can largely be applied to areas that are considered to be more venerable to storms with a limited capacity for managing natural disasters. It is important to study and understand the effects related to obstacles and flood flow at a basic level before considering the more complex factors that include complex liquids and shapes. This is because it is challenging in studying these effects when these complex factors are considered. In this regard, the major focus of the project is on the effects of the cylinder on the open channel flow, whereby this is a simulation of a real-life situation and the cylinder is related to structural piles or trees.

write an article on Should the United Kingdom remain in the European Union. It needs to be at least 1750 words.

Hello, I am looking for someone to write an article on Should the United Kingdom remain in the European Union. It needs to be at least 1750 words.

The UK joined European Union in 1973 and has remained sceptical of the common currency that has now threatened the competitiveness of the EU economy due to the high sovereign debts of the member states (Pilkington, 2001). UK has sought to exert more influence within the EU to no avail and citizens have mixed reactions of whether the UK should leave the EU or continue with its memberships even after the British Prime Minister rejected the fiscal compact designed to save the future of the EU (Pilkington, 2001).

On the other hand, those in favour of continued membership in the EU assert that countries like Norway and Switzerland still abide by the EU rules without any influence on their formation. David Cameron is of the opinion that UK has participated in EU trade rules formation and thus leaving the EU will allow other countries to dictate the trade rules on UK without the capacity to participate in writing the rules. Thesis statement: the costs of the UK’s membership in the EU far outweigh the benefits and it is time to leave the EU.

Those in favour of the UK leaving the EU to assert that 90 per cent of UK trade does not depend on the EU yet the country is bound by EU rules on trade. In this case, the UK depends on small and medium enterprises for its job creation and economic growth and this sector should be freed from EU regulations (Newman, Sather & Woolgar, 2013). Bilateral trade agreements with emerging economies such as India, Brazil and China is possible through the World Trade Organisation and thus the UK will be capable of enjoying cheaper imports due to favourable and low tariffs associated with the bilateral trade arrangements especially in the food sector (Pilkington, 2001).

The current eurozone crisis is expected to continue for the next decade and the European Central Bank will be called upon to bail out some of the member states from the sovereign debt crisis. The UK is excluded from the euro meaning that it is less vulnerable&nbsp.to the Southern sovereign bonds (Minford& Nowell, 2005). Some argue that UK benefits from foreign direct investments and technology spillovers from the multinational firms from the EU region.&nbsp.

Compose a 1750 words assignment on alternative holistic treatment for sleep disorders.

Compose a 1750 words assignment on alternative holistic treatment for sleep disorders. Needs to be plagiarism free!

Thus, WHO recognized alternative, complementary, and holistic treatment methods, including osteopathy, homeopathy, bio-resonance therapy, traditional Eastern medicine, and other approaches.Holistic medicine is nowadays one of the most popular and recognized trends in alternative medicine. The holistic approach views a human organism as an organic whole and considers interconnection between different organs and systems. Holism as a philosophical approach is based on the belief that human health is a result of a balance between mind, spirit, and body and that the whole person should be treated rather than certain local disorders (Mandel, 2009).

From these principles, it is clear that disease is perceived as a consequence of misbalance between the three constituents. Therefore, practitioners of holism focus on the restoration of balance and harmony between numerous interdependent systems of an organism to enhance a person’s health – emotional, physical, and spiritual.Considering the basics of holistic medicine, it is reasonable to suppose that this approach might help treat such dysfunctions as sleep disorders because nowadays, sleep disorders are an extremely widespread issue in many countries.

“Sleep-related disorders are recognized in one-third of the western population” (Vidvashree et al, 2013). Due to workloads, the rigid rhythm of life, and stresses, sleep disturbances and disorders become a problem for a great part of the adult population and even adolescents. There is a wide range of sleep disorders that includes insomnia, narcolepsy, sleep state misperception, sleepwalking, nightmares, sleep bruxism, and many others. However, alternative medicine offers numerous methods aimed at improvement of overall health conditions, thus eliminating sleep disorders.

Acupuncture is one of the most exotic and popular methods of treatment, which is rooted in ancient Chinese medicine. This method was applied around five thousand years ago and has survived till nowadays. Acupuncture foresees affecting human organs and systems with help of special causes (medical needles).

Create a 5 pages page paper that discusses secured localization of a new generation global computing system.

Create a 5 pages page paper that discusses secured localization of a new generation global computing system. Attempts have been made to solve most of these challenges by enhancing technology systems. In today’s global computing world, advanced technology systems like multi-lingual Translation Engines, Distributed Computing, Overlay Computing, Component-based Computing, Service Oriented Architecture, Cryptography Systems, etc have enhanced the experience of Global Computing to a large extent. These technology solutions definitely have enhanced global computing experience. However, they cannot bridge the gaps in cultural acceptance of the content of a Global Application. For example, a translator converting American English to the German language might do an excellent job grammatically but the Germans may not like the writing style of the translated script because of some cultural mismatch. This is the reason that some companies have preferred to maintain multi-lingual websites rather than relying upon translation engines. Moreover, security has remained a large challenge in Global Computing posed by known threats and emerging threats turning up continuously (Perrault, Anna H, and Gregory, 2001. Jones, Cameron, and Twidale, Michael 2006).

Other challenges that need further research & enhancements about Global Computing are (but not limited to) Software Development, Platform Integration, Data Consistency, Speed & Performance, Identity Management, Legal & Compliance framework, Quality of Service, etc (Perrault, Anna H, and Gregory, 2001. Jones, Cameron, and Twidale, Michael 2006).

Telephone Network: The establishment of Voice over IP networks and their connectivity to local PSTN networks has created a virtual exchange that has empowered every multi-media enabled personal computer to act as a telephone. Moreover, such technologies have also presented Video over IP systems to global users such that they can interact with any Internet user across the globe using Video-Conferencing.

A well-co-ordinated multi-protocol network of resources across the world is managed at higher layers of the OSI seven-layer model without any centralized control that ensures proper personalization to an individual, groups, and companies.

Platform and Ecosystem Transitions: Value Creation in a Digital Age

Purpose of study

The purpose of this study is to explore.

  1. How businesses can connect with people (prosumers) in today’s world through platforms and ecosystem transitioning to drive and create value, and
  2. How a value-chain-based or traditional business can transition into new digital market to remain competitive in the digital age.

In achieving the above-mentioned goals, the proposed research shall be looking at Uber business model as case study.

Background

Digitalization challenges existing organizations and industries. The associated advancement changes the way organizations, and their customers interact. This has increasingly fostered the emergence of platforms to facilitate such interaction. Online platforms are software or hardware infrastructures that serve as a foundation and facilitate the interaction between multiple parties (e.g., between organizations and users). Organizations create platforms as part of a larger ecosystem. One major challenge concerns the design of platform-based ecosystems, so all participants benefit from their participation. The management of associated relationships with other ecosystem participants is consequently a key challenge and demands according to foresight. (Benedict J. Drasch, 2019)

A platform is a business model that creates value by facilitating exchanges between two or more interdependent groups, usually consumers and producers. To make these exchanges happen, platforms harness and create large, scalable networks of users and resources that can be accessed on demand.  (Alex Moazed, 2021)

Like Facebook, Uber, or Alibaba, these businesses don’t directly create and control inventory via a supply chain the way linear businesses do. Platform businesses don’t own the means of production— instead, they create the means of connection. In the case of Tesla for example, Tesla owns both the means of production and at the same time, the means of connection which is a typical example to learn from for traditional or what is mostly referred to linear organizations to transition into this new ecosystem of combining platforms and connecting with consumers at the same time to be able to create value in this digital age.

Managers and entrepreneurs in the digital era must learn to live in two worlds—the conventional economy and the platform economy. Platforms that operate for business purposes usually exist at the level of an industry or ecosystem, bringing together individuals and organizations so they can innovate and interact in ways not otherwise possible. Platforms create economic value far beyond what we see in conventional companies. (Michael A. Cusumano et al, 2019)

Successful platforms facilitate exchanges by reducing transaction costs and/or by enabling externalized innovation. With the advent of connected technology, these ecosystems enable platforms to scale in ways that traditional businesses cannot. For example, the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown was like “the last straw that broke the camels back” in the case of Prometric Inc. Prometric Inc prior to this time had been administering various board examinations and tests through a traditional and conventional means of owning product and physical spaces with direct and physical interactions with candidates. Today, Prometric Inc, has now built a platform for connecting with candidates at the comfort of their homes. Although this is still work-in-progress, but these transition as helped Prometric reduce cost drastically and create value for their clients and organization at large according to the CEO- Roy Simrell

It’s important to remember that a platform is a business model, not just a piece of technology. A lot of people make the mistake of conflating a platform with a mobile app or a website, but a platform isn’t just a piece of software. It’s a holistic business model that creates value by bringing together consumers and producers.

The most common misuse of the term “platform” is when it’s used to describe an integrated suite of software products. (Alex Moazed, 2021)

In the 16th century, the world was moving towards a change but was still in the realms of conservativeness. The palace of the United Kingdom was still in place and Queen Elizabeth was the queen of that palace. In these times when people were afraid to pass certain comments on certain topics, Shakespeare had the courage to use his skills and write on particular subjects which were not common in those days. In the times when all these topics were impossible to write on Shakespeare made a great move and wrote on these topics with immense care.

&nbsp.Henry IV Part I is a story about a King and his rebellions. It revolves around the greed for the kingdom and the betrayal of the king. King Henry leads the story as the king but soon faces problems at the hands of the people because of whom he has reached the throne. King Henry is not content with the actions of his son Prince Harry who is more diverted towards the materialistic world. Prince Harry not only does involve in drinking but he also makes friends with liars and burglars. This creates a gap of misunderstanding between the King and the Prince.

However, the change in the plot takes place when one of the loyal noblemen of the King betrays him and shows his greed for the attainment of the throne of King Henry. Hotspur is the name of the character that betrays the King and forces a civil war to pertain to his kingdom. Furthermore, he also gathers allies in order to fight the army of the King and defeat him, but it is later known that most of his allies refuse to take part in the war. Seeing the situation of a civil war in the state King Henry calls upon his son to fight in the battle.

Prince Harry comes back to the throne only to fight and win the war for his father. Hotspur is defeated by the army of King Henry with the help of his son and both the father and son get back on good terms. In this sequel, Shakespeare tells about the greed one has for the throne and the inner conflicts which a kingdom can face. However, in those times it was impossible to point out at the royal kingdom and the greed which people have for the throne.

Create a 45 pages page paper that discusses promoting energy efficiency buildings: to build or to retrofit.

Create a 45 pages page paper that discusses promoting energy efficiency buildings: to build or to retrofit. To conduct a primary research study and an extensive literature review as a way to determine whether it would be more environmentally and socio-economically beneficial to encourage more professional house building developers to preserve the existing homes through renovation and retrofitting or simply encourage them to start building new homes that use of the latest building technologies.

Research Method: Regardless of age, gender, and nationality, qualified research interviewees for this study include the young professionals who have been working as Engineers and Architects in the UK for the past five (5) years. Applicable to this study, a total of five (5) professional Engineers and Architects were invited to participate in a one-on-one research interview with the researcher. Basically, the rationale for selecting this particular research method is to provide the researcher with the opportunity to have the time and attention of each qualified research interview respondents.

Research Findings: Retrofits and renovation as well as demolition and reconstruction have their own advantages and disadvantages. Since demolition and reconstruction are more costly and environmentally damaging because of the massive construction waste and air pollution, a lot of engineers and architects today strongly support the development of retrofits and renovation. Retrofits and renovation do not only preserve the old designs of buildings, but they also cost a lot cheaper as compared to demolition and reconstruction.

Aside from food and water, a good shelter is considered a significant part of the human physiological needs. Recently, the UK government has been targeting a target of 240,000 new homes by 2016 and yet only half of this figure has been completed in 2015 (De Castella, 2015). Since the first quarter of 2015, several online news reports highlighted the fact that the UK is at risk of facing the long-term socioeconomic consequences of the ‘housing crisis’ (De Castella, 2015. Denton and Lambert, 2015. Chan, 2014).&nbsp.
