TERM PAPER on Indian education system( here discurse about Indian education system, foreign education system and also why people are attracting towards the foreign education system)

The paper should focus on either strategic planning or operational planning.  Some individuals are high enough in their organization to be able to engage in strategic planning.  This paper can then be how you would develop a strategic plan.  For another group, you might be able to assess a strategic plan that is in place for an organization with which you are familiar.  Some others in class work in an operation where they can assess how an operational plan has been developed and can assess that. Another group of students may be able to develop their own operational plan.  In some cases, the student may want to develop a strategic plan for himself or herself.  Do not look at companies with which you have no intimate knowledge since many organizations do not provide all aspects in their public documents.  I know some of you might want to explore companies that are worldwide or known throughout the world, but this is not appropriate for this class. The paper must include a SWOT analysis, but may include other environmental assessments.  The SWOT analysis should include the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, as well as any recommendations.

Papers are expected to be 10 to 15 pages, double-spaced in APA format.  The paper should include the following:

  • Table of Contents
  • Introduction
  • Background
  • Current thinking
  • Relationship to current/other organizations with which student is familiar
  • Conclusion
  • References
  • Supplemental materials

An Executive Summary should be done for the paper. This should provide highlights of the paper and is used to entice the executive into reading the complete paper. It is placed between the title page and the table of contents. A SWOT Analysis should be included in the paper. It can be incorporated into the body of the paper or as supplementary materials.

The introduction should include why this paper is being done; what is the point. The background provides a summary of the issue or case. Current thinking covers current literature relating to the topic. For the area of relationship to current or other organizations, explain how the subject compares or contrasts with those of another organization. This demonstrates the start of the benchmarking process.  The conclusion is what you found out by conducting this research and exercise.  There should be at least six references from journal articles, textbooks, or government publications (excluding textbooks from this course).  These can be from various sources, but should include internet or online library resources.

As a student of FDU, you have access to the online library resources.  There are thousands of full text articles available through the library

Supplemental materials to be attached to the end of the paper may include a specific policy or procedure in effect in your organization or personnel manual. Permission to use the material must be obtained, and the issue of confidentiality must be observed. Inability or failure to attach these materials may adversely impact grading.

PRESENTATION

A presentation will be expected for each term paper. This can be either an Executive Summary of your paper or a PowerPoint presentation. There will be a five to ten minute presentation of the paper on the last day of class.  The presentation should provide a summary of the term paper. The presentation will provide an opportunity for other class participants to suggest other aspects to consider

Literacy Narrative and Grantham Resources. There are two parts to this assignment: a literacy narrative and a discussion of Grantham resources. A Literacy Narrative is a special kind of essay in which the writer describes his or her relationship with reading or writing. A narrative is not a person’s life story; it focuses on a single experience or event in the person’s life and shows how the event shaped the person—what he or she learned from it or how the experience helped him or her grow. For example, your literacy narrative could be about how you learned the value of writing or how the feedback of a teacher taught you to love (or hate) writing. In your narrative, identify one or more of the Four Basics and credit (identify) The Writer’s Way as the source for the information on the four basics. How does your TFD affect your ability to engage in small talk? How does your TFD affect your ability to overcome conflict?

Interpersonal skills are the life skills we use every day to communicate and interact with other people, both individually and in groups.  People who have worked on developing strong interpersonal skills are usually more successful in both their professional and personal lives. Employers often seek to hire staff with ‘strong interpersonal skills’ – they want people who will work well in a team and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and clients.

Complete the Tolerance for Disagreement Scale.docx (linked here) and then, without disclosing too much personal information, share your thoughts on your tolerance for disagreement.  Once you have discussed your tolerance for disagreement outcome, utilize the “P-U-G-S-S” model (outlined in the weekly lesson) to discuss how you could research and improve your interpersonal communication and your approach to conflict.

  1. In no less than 250 words, create an initial post that describes your tolerance for disagreement (TFD). How does your TFD affect your ability to engage in small talk? Watch these 3 short arias. In addition to the incredible music and singing, I want you to pay attention to the opera houses, the sets and the costumes.

Baroque Opera/Farinelli Discussion

Here are 3 clips from a movie called Farinelli that I would like you to look at. I put these here so you could see what Baroque Opera really looked and sounded like. It’s a Dutch film that was made in 1994 and great lengths were taken to recreate the look and feel of Baroque Opera. They recreated sets and costumes and even recreated an opera house based on paintings that were made from the era. If you can imagine yourself back in time (around the year 1700) in the audience at performances like these, you will start to see how and why Opera had such a huge impact on the masses. Remember, Opera was the very first venue outside of the royal courts that people from every walk of life could go to experience live music. Not only was there this new highly emotional music, there was an incredible spectacle to be seen as well.

On another note, the main character in the movie, Farinelli (Carlo Broschi), was a castrato singer. Yes, it’s exactly as it sounds if you hesitated while reading that. Castrato (castrati is plural) singers are artificially created male sopranos and they were a huge part of the success of early opera. They had the most beautiful and powerful voices that have ever been heard. Here’s a link to the wiki page about the castrati if you’re curious. Link (Links to an external site.) Farinelli was the most famous and celebrated castrato of all time. They used modern technology to try to recreate the sound of the castrati in this film. They did it by digitally overlapping the voice of a modern woman soprano and a male countertenor (a natural male soprano). The third of these clips is the most shocking but it’s also the most famous aria of the three having been written by George Frederic Handel.

Assignment-

1- Watch these 3 short arias. In addition to the incredible music and singing, I want you to pay attention to the opera houses, the sets and the costumes. Keep in mind that all of this happened before electricity and motors. Every moving piece of the sets had to be man powered. If you can imagine yourself back in time I think that you’ll see why opera became so popular so quickly.

2- Post your thoughts on the discussion board.
