submit a 500 words paper on the topic Ideology and Ideological State Apparatuses. Louis Althusser.

Hi, need to submit a 500 words paper on the topic Ideology and Ideological State Apparatuses. Louis Althusser. In the article, ‘Ideology and Ideological Apparatuses’, Louis Althusser, an eminent philosopher has expounded on the wider meaning of ideas and ideologies that are subscribed by human race. He asserts that ideas are imaginary representations which men try to enact physically. He asserts that theory of ideologies depend on the social formations which are linked to production and creation of social class. Thus, ideologies have history but ideology in general has no history because is it abstract and is defined in the form of consciousness which is constant and remains same for all time. This is the main thesis of the article and author has explained it through social class and their history.

The article explains that ideologies are predetermined by the existence of platforms or apparatus that define their statutes or modes. Thus, one hears of religious ideology, political ideology, legal ideology etc. Althusser has defined these as social apparatus which are used to propagate different ideologies. In German Ideology, Marx had primarily defined ideology as pure illusion which people tried to fit with the physical reality. It is a ‘pure dream, empty and vain, constituted by the ‘day’s residues’ from the only full and positive reality’ (p240). Author questions the ‘need’ to fit the reality with the illusion of ideology. He says Marx’s ideology has different problematics mainly because it functions at various levels and is open to widespread interpretations.

Another very pertinent point made in the article is the need for subjects who bring into actions the modalities of ideologies that are practiced. Indeed, existence of ideologies it realized by the presence of subjects (man). Thus, ideologies have structures and functions which are carried by subjects. Althusser better explains it when he divides his main thesis in two parts saying that ideology: is representation of imaginary relationship of individuals to their real conditions of existence. has a material existence. These are important postulates that illusionary representations constitute ideologies which men try to relate in their real life. Prime examples are the religious scriptures which promote ideologies in the name of God and make men follow them in their real life. Most importantly, ideologies have material existence is proved when Althusser asserts that ‘ideologies always exist in an apparatus (religious, ethical, legal, political etc.) and its practice or practices’ (242).

The practice of ideologies under different apparatus may have different modalities that mainly depend on their ‘imaginary relation to their condition of existence’ (242). Interestingly, ideological representation infers that subject that practice them have their own consciousness. The subjects have the ‘ideas’ that their consciousness motivates them to act on their ‘ideas’, thereby giving him the ‘free will’ to act. In short, the illusion of ideas is internal but the action based on ideology is external that not only requires a apparatus but also a subject 9man) who can act on those ideologies. Hence, ideologies have structure and functions which are used by subjects in their real life in relationship to their existing conditions. The subjects are also divided as ‘free subjectivity, author of and responsible for its actions. and subjected being, who submit to higher authority’ (248).

Thus, ideologies, as stated by author, can only be explained through social class within a social structure or society. It not only demarcates social class but also recognizes correlation between subject and subject, subject and production that promote ISAs and their defined functions in social structure. Create a thesis and an outline on Hybrid Cars in Qatar: Solar and Electricity Powered Cars. Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide. An abstract is required.

I need help creating a thesis and an outline on Hybrid Cars in Qatar: Solar and Electricity Powered Cars. Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide. An abstract is required. Hybrid cars have one or more auxiliary electric motors that act as supplementary power to the main gasoline engine. The engines of hybrid cars are smaller in size but more efficient as compared with conventional engines. These engines are most helpful especially during manoeuvres that require extraordinarily high power such as climbing steeps and hills and accelerating from a standstill. Hybrid cars are able to shut down the engine when the electric mode is sufficient enough for the vehicle. These vehicles are powered by electricity and solar power energy. They are innovative technologies that promote green advancement s since they are made to emit lesser CO2 gas as compared with the conventional engines in ordinary cars [1]. Many environmentalist movements promote the use of these cars in the hope to alleviate the increasing concern of global warming and make this world a better place to live in. However, the market for hybrid cars did not respond as positively as expected. Many people are not informed about the difference between hybrid cars from the conventional ones.

There are various kinds of solar-powered cars and electric hybrid cars. One of the types is the Plug-in Hybrid Car, or the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) is another type of hybrid car that gets most of its power from the electrical energy stores on the car batteries. Mostly, PHEV is powered by gasoline. However, the gas-only kicks when the battery runs down. The battery packs of these cars can be charged in the standard outlets or via an electric generator [1]. Plug-in hybrid cars reduce fossil fuel use since it is not dependent on the oil. It also reduces the emission of greenhouse gases. However, the car requires large batteries for the storage of energy. Another type of hybrid cars is a mild hybrid. They are considered as the least expensive among the types of hybrid cars.&nbsp.These types of cars do not depend on one electric engine only. Instead, the electric motors of the car assist the gas engine, especially for higher power requirement.

Need an research paper on fast food and sustainable development: mcdonalds case study. Needs to be 9 pages. Please no plagiarism. Sustainable development is defined as development “that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generation to meet their own needs” (WCED, 1987). Hence, development should predominantly consider the following dimensions, as applied in a business or food chain establishment (Zamora, et. al, 2002):

a) Economic viability – the business establishment should meet the needs of its customers and employees while being able to make profit at the same time.

b) Ecological soundness – aside from catering to the needs of the customers, it should also consider if any crucial aspect of the business, especially in production, would severely damage the environment.

c) Social just and humane – any business endeavour should respect the dignity and rights, not only of its consumers and end-users but as well as rights of its employees. Social responsibility must be implemented.

d) Culturally appropriate – products and services being provided should be in accordance with the taste, needs and beliefs of its consumers. Furthermore, business establishments should respect the location- and context-specific cultures of their diverse end-clients.

e) Grounded on holistic science – firms and employees alike should scientifically and cautiously consider the interrelationships and interaction of all the aforementioned aspects.

In the long run, multi-national companies, firms and the like would not only benefit in this endeavour. Consumers, and the community to which it belongs, should equally benefit from the former.

The odorless, colorless gas has no warning characteristics (Kamrin 1997) hence it contains the irritant chloropicrin as a warning indicator.

Thesis Statement: The purpose of this paper is to investigate the properties, functions, uses, toxic effects, and various other dimensions of Vikane Gas or Sulfuryl Fluoride. The detection methods and treatment for nerve gases will also be examined.

Significantly, sulfuryl fluoride is licensed for use in several countries, which is an important consideration in increasing the use of the fumigant in postharvest control technology. It is currently registered as a structural fumigant, “and maybe effective as a general commodity disinfestation treatment and as a quarantine treatment” (Zettler and Arthur 2000, p.581). In food premises storing grains, the fumigant is used carefully because of its toxicity. Further, it is used as a quarantine treatment for dried fruits and nuts where control of the tolerant egg stage need not be taken into consideration. as in destroying an infestation of C. pomonella on walnuts and A. Francisella on almonds. Sulfuryl fluoride has the lowest boiling point of any fumigant, -55.20C, and hence is in the gaseous state under all practical fumigation conditions.

The exposure routes are mainly through inhalation and through the skin. Vikane gas, a Restricted Use Pesticide is in a pressurized condition in a steel cylinder from which it is dispensed through a hose into the interior of the sealed structure. After the elapse of a period of time, when air levels of sulfuryl fluoride have lowered to 1 part per million (ppm) or less, the interior of the structure is aerated.&nbsp.

Need help with my writing homework on Choose one element that you notice in (Agamemnon, Hamlet, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock). Explain the similarities and differences as you compare the development in each work of your chosen element. Write a 500 word paper answering; Agamemnon, Hamlet, ‘The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufock Agamemnon, Hamlet and ‘The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufock areliteral works that are world renowned for their masterly of literal stylistic devices that give the authors’ message substance and meaning. The themes contained in these works of art range from love, hatred and revenge among other subthemes which battle for supremacy in the readers’ mind and conscience. A careful analysis of these works demonstrates some notable similarities in their development and atrocities experienced by the protagonists in the plot. There are also some differences that are accrued from further analysis of these works chief among them the authors’ clarity of ideas and intended themes. To adequately enjoy and gain insights into these works, the reader should endeavor to discern all the notable similarities and differences in these pieces of literature.

Hamlet is a story line made famous by William Shakespeare who wrote the plot of the story to be depicted as a play, which makes it a world acclaimed piece of literature and theatrical prose. Hamlet is bent on avenging his father’s death, and this exposes the reader to other aspects of the protagonist’s character that can be construed to be part of the author’s intention and insight to the reader. Hamlet’s vengeance exposes his insecurity leading him to commit incestuous acts with his kin in an effort to secure his dominance and authority. This is an aspect that is present in the ‘The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufock’ in the sense that his insecurities lead him to reveal his inner-self unconsciously. The difference between the two is that in Hamlet, Prince Hamlet quest is fulfilled with the murder of his Uncle the focus of his revenge and hatred. Unlike Hamlet, J. Alfred Prufock’s insecurities and inadequacies haunt him for the rest of the poem, and the reader is left wondering or yearning to know the outcome or the true end of the story. Agamemnon as a play also presents a dilemma, which is also present in all the literal works under discussion (Aeschylu, Raeburn and Thomas 118).

Hamlet is in a dilemma on how he is going to redeem himself in the eyes of his people as their king in the presence of his overbearing uncle. He is also unsure of his mother’s involvement in the murder of his father due to her speedy remarriage to his uncle whom he suspects as his father’s killer (Crowl 169). Agamemnon is in a dilemma as to the future of his position upon his return from the Trojan War, an aspects he battles with till his ultimate death or murder. The inconclusiveness of Agamemnon’s fate is reflected in J. Alfred Prusock’s fate in the poem (Ackerley 67). This is in the sense that there are no viable solutions for both of their dilemmas because the plot ends prematurely or it was the author’s intention to seek the reader’s advanced engagement. Hamlet is different from Agamemnon even if they share themes such as moral corruption revenge, mortality and appearance and reality. This is illustrated by suffering and human fragility as it is not seen as one of Hamlets primary concerns despite his stature as his people’s king.

These literal works are classic examples of how timelines can be brought together by man’s human nature. This works to represent different dimensions and situation through which human interaction can be achieved, and at the same time appreciate their diversity.

Create a 6 pages page paper that discusses alcohol and crime in the us.

Create a 6 pages page paper that discusses alcohol and crime in the us. The sub-claim is that this forced the states to raise the legal drinking age again to twenty-one. The author supports his claim by referring to the findings of researches that were done, that indicated that alcohol-related accidents increased from 15% to 25% after the reduction of the legal drinking age (218). The author applies the theory of the minimum drinking age. The theory proposes that the reduction in the legal drinking age causes changes in a traffic crash and accident involvement by increasing their chances of occurrence. This is because. a reduction in the drinking age changes the drinking norms of the youths by increasing the number of those who drink. This increases the rates of drunken and careless driving and consequently traffic crashes.

I found this article useful for this article with information that can support my claim that alcohol is linked to the crime. This is because. the findings of the researches undertaken indicated an increase in road accident crimes, because of the reduction in drinking age. The author of the article is Wagenaar and the article can be found in jstor.

The article examines the relationship of violent male alcohol consumers and female victims, to the presence of children. According to Hutchison, the presence of children had little impact on the violence of these alcohol consumers. The author claims that alcohol is the root cause of violence at homes. The sub-claim is that the presence of children in such a family where violence and battering are common does not affect the occurrence of violence (58). The author supports this claim by evaluating the evidence supplied to the police, and how the presence of children affects this. The alcohol consumer continues to batter their women even in the presence of their children. According to the article, although alcohol is directly linked to violence and crime, there is not empirical data to support this (60). While there is an extensive study on the link between alcohol violence and crime, the impacts of children present in such incidences are not well covered. According to Hutchison, there exist a connection between alcohol consumption and the committal of acts of violence and crime.

Center of gravity (cg) is a point inside or outside a body through which the whole weight of the body appears to be acting. For an aircraft, the center of gravity position depends on, and is controlled by balancing the overall size and mass distribution characteristics including the effect produced as a result of the consumption of fuel. Center of gravity calculations are of critical importance during aircraft design.

Figure 1. Weight distribution due to different components of an aircraft.

For stability of the aircraft during take- off, landing and cruise , the center of gravity of the aircraft must fall within the limits and range specified for a particular type and make of an aircraft as established by the manufacturer.

The aircraft is capable of rotation along the three axes namely. Pitch ,Roll and Yaw, in addition to a linear motion along the specific air route when in- flight. For any type of movement shown by the aircraft ,the weight of the aircraft must be balanced out to maintain the position of the center of gravity for stability.

An air craft can have Lateral center of gravity, Longitudinal center of gravity and even Vertical center of gravity. The most important if these being the Lateral cg, which has a critical role in stabilizing the pitch of the aircraft. Lateral cg is further partitioned into Forward and Aft cg. There are limits to the Fore and Aft cg positioning. If the Fore and Aft cg is out of range the aircraft may pitch uncontrollably up or down during take-off ,flight or landing. For example if the cg is too far forward , the plane is likely to tilt forward or crash

upon take-off.

Figure 1. Effect of shift in Longitudinal cg on the pitch of an aircraft.

The Lateral cg position is to be maintained in order to control and stabilize any unwanted roll movement during any stage of flight. The position of Lateral cg can shift if there is an uneven distribution of fuel in the tanks,or in case of an uneven seating arrangement of passengers in a small aircraft.

Figure 3 Effect of shift in Lateral cg on the Roll of an aircraft during flight.

The Vertical cg position is associated with the stability of the flight along the yaw axis. A shift in the vertical cg can result in yawing motion if not compensated for by the pilot during take-off, flight and landing.

Alshafi 3

The vertical cg position may be shifted even due to cross winds. This results in a sidewise motion of the aircraft during flight.

Figure 4.Effect of change in Vertical cg on the yaw of an aircraft.

The change in the Vertical cg of the aircraft can disturb the course during flight.During landing the aircraft can experience problems due to the sidewise movement and may miss the landing.

The center of gravity is a major factor in the stability of an aircraft in all the phases of flight . take-off ,cruise / flight and landing. A disturbance in the longitudinal, lateral or vertical cg can upset the movement of the aircraft along either of the three axes .pitch , roll or yaw.

Factors Affecting the Performance of Employees. The work is to be 9 pages with three to five sources, with in-text citations and a reference page.

I will pay for the following article Factors Affecting the Performance of Employees. The work is to be 9 pages with three to five sources, with in-text citations and a reference page. There are several factors that influence the performance of employees in an organization. These factors depend on their impact on the roles assigned to employees. Human capital is a valuable asset for organizations. However, to enable these employees to create value for the organization, the management needs to address all factors that may affect their performance. An effective worker is a combination of excellent skills, knowledge, and favorable work environment. The human resource policies and strategies of an organization are the key determinants of employees’ performance (Armstrong, 2006). For example, in my previous employment, there were various incentives such as Christmas bonuses to employees, which aimed at motivating employees.&nbsp.

According to Armstrong (2006), human resources are valuable assets for an organization. Understanding the issues, which influence worker performance, may be key to enhancing employee’s productivity and morale. Organizations formulate strategies for providing an excellent work environment in order to attract and retain the best employees. These strategies should address those factors that affect the performance of workers. These factors may be within or outside the company, including those factors emanating from the employee’s personal lives. The paper will discuss the following factors as determinants of employees’ performance. These factors include ability, knowledge and skills, feedback, environment, standards, and motivation.

Motivation is the key to an effective organization to sustain the stability of the work in a strong way and help the survival of the organization. Motivation is discovering a requirement inside the workers and assisting to attain it. Motivation enables employees to widen their skills to meet the organizational objectives. Motivation drives human beings to achieve their objectives and company objectives through each challenge and limitation they experience in their workplace. The need of accomplishment leads in a desire to put extra effort to have something done better and the desire for success. There are three internal forces that influence an individual’s behavior. direction, intensity, and persistence.

Choose Public-College Presidents in the Sunshine, but Know When to Draw the Shades

Last week a new president was chosen for the University of Tennessee after much deliberation. The controversy revolved around the final interviews being made available on the Internet. Some people view this open process as unnecessary and in fact harmful to the reputation of the university. The authors of this article investigated numerous states’ sunshine laws, where information must be made public in state-sponsored institutions. What was discovered was that there is much confusion around how these laws should be applied and in what circumstances. The recommendation given was that common ground should be found that permits some information to be made public yet allows privacy on certain occasions. Also, the timing of the release of sensitive information should be done in a slow manner. Thirdly, there must be some closed-door meetings that do not require information to be disseminated. Trustees should be informed of important decisions before the information is made available to the public. Sunshine will continue to thrive, but the way in which they are used must be looked at.

Write a 6 pages paper on the threat of obsessive-compulsive disorder. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is classified currently on its own, and it features an individual’s preoccupation with obsessive thoughts and the display of compulsive behaviors triggered by anxiety-provoking stimuli. DSM-V outlines the following criteria for the classification of OCD.

During the Dark Ages, when religion predominantly governed all facets of human existence, individuals suffering from obsessive thoughts just like those afflicted with blasphemous or sexual thoughts were believed to be possessed by evil spirits. Consequentially, the prescribed treatment entailed exorcising the evil spirits. Religion offered no factual justification for its diagnosis and treatment of OCD. therefore, the probability of recovery among those afflicted with the disorder was slim to none.

Scientific advancements during the Enlightenment era offered a different perspective on the causes, diagnosis, and possible treatment of OCD. Early physicians attributed the disorder to an imbalance in the body’s senses of humor. According to them, restoring balance to the senses of humor was achievable through bloodletting. These physicians distinguished between different types of compulsions and obsessions. for example, compulsive washing, checking, and sexual obsessions among others.

In the early 1900s, scholars discovered a psychological component to the disorder. Psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud posited that obsessive-compulsive thoughts were manifestations of unconscious conflicts. Freud hypothesized that external prohibitions toward specific actions such as touching failed to abolish one’s desires to pursue those actions, as they resulted in repression. According to him, repressed feelings and thoughts persisting in an individual’s unconsciousness eventually re-surfaced manifesting themselves through peculiar behaviors.

Building on advancements made by early scholars, contemporary scholars continue to use highly advanced technology.&nbsp.for example, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans to identify abnormalities in the brain structure that might predispose the development of OCD.
