We have traced how “women” – who bear some relationship to the national construct of “America” – have used genres, sometimes “literature” – to protest injustice, to seek connection, to right wrongs, and to know and care for the self. Now it’s your turn to add to the conversation.   You will craft your own piece of writing/art/media that is inspired by, speaks back to, extends, or otherwise engages with the histories of writing and art that we have been exploring.

Project: adding to the story

I want you to consider the lineage of writers and writing that we have considered.

Your project might be:

  • A writing project (5-7 pages, more is fine)
    • An academic essay
    • A creative writing project
    • A hybrid writing project (academic + personal narrative, for example)
    • A lesson plan

you will be evaluated on the following:

  • Does the work engage with the questions, themes, and ideas of the course? Is there a clear connection with the course texts and discussions?
  • Does the work contribute to the conversation, and add new analysis, interpretation, creativity, and/or insight?
  • Does the chosen genre of the project make sense for the purpose of the project? (ie, if you want to make a social media campaign, don’t write like an academic)

This prompt is very broad. This is to encourage your own creativity & academic interest. However, if you don’t know where to start, here are some things to consider:

  • Which texts, ideas, and questions have moved me this quarter? Which ones do I want to continue to think with?
  • Who is my audience for my project? What kind of information or story do I want to share with that audience?
  • What experiences, reflections, and ideas do I have to contribute to this conversation?

Write a brief analysis (no longer than 2 pages) of the connection between EBP and the Quadruple Aim. Your analysis should address how EBP might (or might not) help reach the Quadruple Aim, including each of the four measures of: Patient experience Population health

Healthcare organizations continually seek to optimize healthcare performance. For years, this approach was a three-pronged one known as the Triple Aim, with efforts focused on improved population health, enhanced patient experience, and lower healthcare costs.

More recently, this approach has evolved to a Quadruple Aim by including a focus on improving the work-life of healthcare providers. Each of these measures is impacted by decisions made at the organizational level, and organizations have increasingly turned to EBP to inform and justify these decisions.

To Prepare:

  • Read the articles by Sikka,      Morath, & Leape (2015); Crabtree, Brennan, Davis, & Coyle (2016);      and Kim et al. (2016) provided in the Resources.
  • Reflect on how EBP might impact      (or not impact) the Quadruple Aim in healthcare.
  • Consider the impact that EBP      may have on factors impacting these quadruple aim elements, such as preventable medical errors or healthcare delivery.

To Complete:

Write a brief analysis (no longer than 2 pages) of the connection between EBP and the Quadruple Aim.

Your analysis should address how EBP might (or might not) help reach the Quadruple Aim, including each of the four measures of:

  • Patient experience
  • Population health
  • Costs
  • Work-life of healthcare      providers

Assessment #1:  Understanding an Income Statement

You are an intern in a health care organization business office. The calculations can be done for FY 2018 or 2019. Make sure to identify the year you used.  Use the Dehew Health System income statement in the attachment, please develop a 4-6 page paper responding to the following questions regarding the income statement:

1. What is an income statement used for?

2. What are the key components of an income statement?

3. On your example of an income statement, is the organization making a profit or loss? How much is that profit or loss? Show the calculations. (Total Revenues – Total Expenses = Net Profit/Loss)

4. On your example of an income statement, what is the “total contribution margin”? Show the calculations.  (Net Sales – Total Variable Costs=Total Contribution Margin).

5. What three financial indicators does a contribution margin help determine? How?

6. What is a break-even analysis? What is the break-even point for this organization? List expenses assigned as variable and fixed. Show the calculations.  (Total revenues – Total VC – Total FC= Profit)

7. How does a break-even analysis vary between fee-for-service and capitated payments? Explain it using the income statement you chose. What are the similarities and differences applicable to the Income statements in fee-for-service and capitated payment options?

The paper should not be more than 6 pages and should follow APA format, spelling and grammar. Include a cover page and reference page (not included in the page count). Make sure to properly cite and reference all the used sources. The calculations need to be shown as formulas using figures. Follow the mathematical rules while calculating numbers.

Acknowledgment: The Income Statement for the Dehew Health System was developed and contributed to HMGT 322 by Professor Rob Parker.

Note:

Total Contribution Margin= Net Sales-Total Variable CostNet Sales in our case= Net PT Revenue + Premium Revenue (recognized insurance revenue)  Then Total Variable Cost is comprised of Supply expenses, postage/courier services, repair/maintenance, travel/seminars, equipment rentals (not lease), and ed. supplies TCM is straightforward. Break-even point: Total Revenue-Total Variable Cost -Total Fixed Cost (the rest of expenses+ deductions from revenue) Technically, the break-even point will be Total Revenue-(Total Operating Expenses + Deductions from Gross PT Revenue)Total Revenue =Gross PT Revenue+ Premium Revenue+ Other Revenue The statement has Units of Service listed on the bottom. However, it is not possible to calculate Total Revenue by a regular formula of Units*Unit Price as the price is PT specific.

The Alset Corporation wants to begin marketing electric vehicles (EVs) to customers in the nation of Climatonia. Because the company is brand new, models and options are very limited. The user can only select from one of three types of models, and the only available option is an extra charging cable. Your job is to write a program in Java that will allow employees to see the configurations that are currently available for purchase.

Alset EVs come in three types:
Type 1: Rear wheel drive, small battery pack (short range)
Type 2: Rear wheel drive, medium battery pack (medium range)
Type 3: All wheel drive, large battery pack (long range)

All cars feature four doors and come with a charging cable. Type 1 vehicles are painted green and have no other options. Type 2 vehicles are painted blue and have GPS navigation. Type 3 vehicles are painted red, have GPS navigation, and also have a sunroof.

After meeting with the client, the design team determined the following custom class requirements for this program:

A class called Alset with the following:

  • A property called numDoors (integer) with a value of 4
  • A property called chargeCable (integer) with a value of 1
  • A property called paintColor (String) with a value of Green
  • A property called freeCharge (String) with a value of No
  • A method called displayInfo() that prints each of these properties on screen like this example: “Number of doors: 4”

A class called Type1 with the following:

  • Inherits from Alset class
  • This model does not have any additional features

A class called Type2 with the following:

  • Inherits from Alset class
  • An integer property called gpsNav with a value of Yes
  • A method that overrides displayInfo(), adding a line to report the gpsNav property

A class called Type3 with the following:

  • Inherits from Alset class
  • An integer property called gpsNav with a value of Yes
  • An integer property called sunroof with a value of Yes
  • A method that overrides displayInfo(), adding lines to report the gpsNav and sunroof properties

When the program runs, present the user with a simple explanation of the program (one sentence), followed by a menu that asks them to enter 1 for Type 1, 2 for Type 2, or 3 for Type 3. Use the Scanner class to process input and use IF/ELSE statements to handle their choice. Once the choice has been made, instantiate a member of the appropriate class, set the correct paint color (if type 2 or 3), then execute the displayInfo() method to display the properties of the vehicle on screen. Once the information has been displayed, the program should end.

Write code comments in both the project class and each of the custom classes to document your program. In your custom classes, use JavaDoc comments to document the features of the class.

NOTE: The paint color may not be set within the Type2 or Type3 classes.

NOTE: This program must be submitted as a NetBeans project in a ZIP. Separate files or code are not acceptable.

Pandemics shape consumer behavior in profound ways. Three major contexts— social, technological, and regulatory—that influence consumer behavior have been in play during COVID-19 (Sheth, 2020). These contexts have shaped consumer behavior in various ways amidst COVID-19 and offer important insights into the general impact of pandemics. The social context involves factors such as change of residence from one city to another, marriage, and having children. COVID-19 has forced many to move to other cities or rural homes to be closer to their families amidst looming lockdowns and other measures aimed at containing the spread of the disease. The change in the city or country of residence suggests that consumers have adjusted their consumption habits. School closures and stay-at-home orders have resulted in increased pregnancies and influenced consumer habits (Bewa, 2021). Technological factors such as Internet access, e-commerce, and smartphones have enabled increased consumption driven by online shopping.

As regards the regulatory context, governments have adopted various measures largely applicable to public and shared spaces with a significant impact on consumer behavior. Measures such as the closure of restaurants in some areas imply increased consumption by location in that more people have been eating at home. Help with homework Lockdowns during COVID-19 have disrupted the global supply chain and influenced consumer access to certain products and services. These developments indicate the significant impact of pandemics on consumer behavior.

Assignment Details

For this project, you will write a Java program that demonstrates exception handling. To facilitate this, you will need to collect input from a user, perform calculations, and send output to the screen. Exception handling will catch any input and calculation errors that may arise. For this project you will need the following variables (all integers): Three to store the input from the user, one to store the sum, and one to store the total. Remember to set their initial values to zero.

Create a new Java project. Write code to prompt the user to enter a number, then repeat this for a second number and a third. As each number is entered, store it in a variable. In each case, use an Input Mismatch Exception handler to catch when the user enters a letter instead of a number. Use the Catch block to inform the user that they should only enter numbers.

When all three numbers have been stored in variables, add the three numbers (their variables) together and store the sum in another variable.

Next, calculate a total that equals the sum of the three variables divided by the third input variable. (Put another way, divide the sum of the numbers by the third number that the user entered.) Use an Arithmetic Exception to handle situations where the third number that was entered by the user was a zero, informing the user that the program has produced a “Divide by zero error.”

Document your code thoroughly with code comments and be sure to explain how each exception works and what it is doing.

Tip: No custom classes, loops, or IF/ELSE statements are needed for this assignment.
Tip: Remember to initialize your variables!
