Write 23 pages thesis on the topic presentation of annual budget for the city of avalon county of los angeles state of california. The process of preparing and presenting a budget for approval and adoption by the Council administration takes various steps. A proper estimate of the available resources with the estimated amounts and the purposes for which the funds are to be deployed effectively are the main considerations for the preparation of any budget. The formal budgetary process encompasses a structure involving the following essential components:

The complexity of the budget review process depends on the size of the council for which the budget is being prepared. In some cases, the budget responsibilities would be assigned to a chief executive officer for reviewing the requests and present them to the elected board for approval. When the unit is large there may be a separate budget office functioning within the council. In even larger City councils apart from the review by the budgetary office departmental budgets would be prepared and reviewed for appropriate provisions in respect of the individual departments. In the case of the City of Avalon, the City Manager and his office will be responsible for the preparation and presentation of the budget for the approval of the elected council members.

Being a small town, there is no necessity to follow an elaborate budgetary process. The process broadly will follow the procedure outlined above and will be reviewed by the elected council members themselves for approval and adoption.

3.0 Strategic Goals and Key Performance Indicators:

The administration of the City Councils has become the function of the elected representatives as well as the appointed officials who have to operate in unison with each other’s ideas. If they start to function in tangential directions, it will be detrimental to the well being of the city dwellers, as no welfare measures can be undertaken without the concerted action of both these bodies. In order that the mission, vision, and value of the city can be accomplished in all intent it is important to adopt certain strategic planning measures encompassing the performance of the city council or the county board as the case may be. Like in any other profit-centered organization, the strategic planning helps to set the direction of the council and with the set directions, the elected street-level bureaucrats are motivated to perform at their best efficiency levels to organize the functions and activities of the Council in the direction of the welfare of the people of the City. The establishment of long-term objectives and goals is an essential pre-requisite of any strategic planning. Once the broader goals are established it becomes easier to break down them into smaller performance targets to be achieved by the appointed officials and the representatives.

This will be in terms of the skills that will be required for the job, the experience that will be required, gender issue as far as the job is concerned and the age bracket. In light of the organization, human resource planning will looks into the objectives of the company in order to know the position of the company in regard to the job. (Iacovou, 2002)

In planning, human resource management will look into the working structure of the company in order to know where the deficiency is. This is important as it avoids duplication of duties in the work. This means that the human resource management must know areas which require new employees. Other wise management cannot create a vacancy where there is no work to be done. A detailed analysis of the function to be perfume by the new employees is important since it makes work description easier for the management.

Need help with my writing homework on Structural Stability Analysis. Write a 750 word paper answering; They are a base composed of a platform resting on four separate supports (called pylons or bents), it is a sort of bar stool, very sturdy, standing on 4 main pillars that are bonded and extended with a much lighter batter at the smaller level that constitutes the second floor, above this, a slender tower created as the bents taper upward, rising above a second platform to merge in a unified column.&nbsp.The weight of the tower is not distributed uniformly along with the height of the Tower. there is more material at the base than near the top.

The Tower consists of lattice-work columns at each of the four corners, in which diagonals connect four elements, thus making stiff, but lightweight columns. Each primary element is composed of many sub-elements. The overall structure has a vertical axis between the two columns, but individually, each column has its axis that follows the curve of the elements. These axes are idealized as parabolas.

Four types of loads act on the Tower: Dead load, Live load, Wind load, and Thermal load. The dead load and the Wind load generate more forces as compared to the rest. Owing to its lattice structure, the tower is relatively lightweight and creates a force of only 4.5 kg/cm2 on the foundation.

The force of the wind causes the top of the Tower to sway 6 to 7 cm.&nbsp.The wind force is one of the chief forces which create horizontal loads over the tower. It can be understood as a type of uniformly distributed load over the entire height of the tower. The overall bending moment from the horizontal wind load will produce tension in one column and compression in the other. Exaggerated action under wind load is shown in the picture.

The wind pressure on the Tower is stronger near the top than at the bottom, but the wind force is fairly uniform because the Tower is tapered.

The wind force will create a higher vertical reaction in the leeward support and a lower vertical reaction in the windward support because the wind alone would create compression in the leeward support and tension in the windward support. In combination with the forces generated by the dead load, the forces can be seen as stated in the diagram.

Compose a 2250 words assignment on big mac under attack: the ethics in advertising fast food. Needs to be plagiarism free! The facts of the case. McDonald’s was accused of offering an unhealthy menu, insufficient nutritional information, and promoting its unhealthy choices directed towards children. It tried to fight off this perception by projecting a healthier face through advertisement, sponsoring sports programs, healthier menus and acquiring a stake in healthy food chains. Ethical issues in the case. Whether or not McDonald’s should promote its unhealthy menu, hide nutritional information and deceive consumers by advertising a health-conscious face. In doing so, it will mislead consumers, can be penalized under consumer protection laws and taint its brand image. The norms, principles, and values are that McDonald’s is respected for its commitment to corporate social responsibility. Nickels, McHugh J. & McHugh S. (2003) have reported McDonald’s like the most admired company in the food services industry. Consumers trust McDonald’s and expect high ethical standards from it. If McDonald’s continues to deceive its consumers it will betray its loyal consumers. Alternative courses of actions. Option1, to continue deceiving its customers by selling the same menu hidden under healthy perceptions or Option2, commit to rolling out unhealthy food items gradually, introducing healthy foods and lower fat and calorie content of current offerings. The best course of action is to commit to health consciousness at a strategic level and bring about meaningful changes. Consequences of each option. Option1, McDonald’s will keep selling its unhealthy food in the guise of healthy food, enjoy short term increase in revenue but risk its corporate image, consumer’s trust, and long term prospects. Option2, McDonald’s is likely to jeopardize its core business as its burger loving consumers might switch to competitors and its strategic shift will be criticized by stakeholders. It will save the company repute and win long term customers. The ethical decision is Option2. McDonald’s should offer healthier foods.

From this case, an important ethical consideration is raised i.e. Ethics in Advertising. The Compact Oxford English dictionary (2005) defines ethics as a set of principles that influence conduct. These principles are derived from norms and values of society. The motivation to adhere to ethics comes from societal expectations of behavior and legislative compliance. “Advertising is any paid form of non-personal presentation and promotion of ideas, goods, or services by an identified sponsor” (Kotler et al. ,2008, p486). Advertising is carried out to inform the customers and prospects about products, persuade them to buy a product or believe in offered values, remind them to create a brand recall and reinforce desired behavior and perceptions (Kotler et al. 2008, p487). As demonstrated in the case McDonald’s was seen to initially promote its supersized meals to consumers through the use of advertisements and in-house promotions. Such advertisements were directed towards children to influence current and future behavior. “Sales promotion is some sort of inducement” (Cravens & Piercy, 2005, p.354). It is imperative to note here that McDonald’s has used extensive inducements through advertising campaigns showing Ronald McDonald with children. It builds the perception of a fun-filled experience for these young impressionable minds and entices them with fancy little limited editions of Mac toys available with happy meals.&nbsp.

Compose a 1250 words assignment on erecruitment.

Compose a 1250 words assignment on erecruitment. Needs to be plagiarism free! E here refers to online and recruitment as we all know means to employ people for jobs. In a lump sum, it is also referred to as online recruitment. Basically, by the use of the computer and the internet, it brings potential employers and employees into a single destination in the look for a job. Another form of recruitment that’s available is the basic one. the one where companies advertise in the news papers, candidates apply and are called in for interviews. However, the orthodox recruitment system has lost its touch and e-recruitment is taking over. According to a recent study, a job is among the top reasons why new users will come to the internet besides e-mail. It is believed that there are more than 18 million rsum’s floating online across the web at this time in history!

Many big and small organizations around the globe are using the internet as a source of recruitment. How this process of recruitment works via the internet is that first of all they advertise job vacancies through the internet. Then many people view the positions and the interested job seekers send in their applications or curriculum vitae (what many people refer to as the CV in recent times) through an e-mail over the internet. Alternately, this system works in the reverse as well. the job seekers place their CV’s over the worldwide web which can be viewed by prospective employers depending upon their necessities.

Generally, there are two kinds of e-recruitment that an organization can use, 1) Job portals, and 2) By creating an e-recruiting section in a company’s own website.

Most organizations prefer looking for jobs through job portals then by creating a separate section for that purpose on their own company website. How organizations make use of the job portals can be compared to how a fishnet separates fish from water. the approaching organizations place the job descriptions and specifications on the job portal and then search the possible rsum’s posted on the site to match their demand. Lets discuss how the second option works. the company adds a software to its website, where the hopeful applicants post their rsums into the company database for consideration when a job vacancy is reported.

However if we compare the two options, the job portal option seems much better to me. The people who operate the job portals, even though they charge you a certain fee in case they find you a match, they always give you the best filtered results and save your time. What the people who work for the job portals do, is that they search the entire lot of applications, only for the most capable and deserving one’s which are then forwarded to the organization for selection from the already shot-listed candidates. However, in the case where the company posts jobs on its own website, not only would be prove expensive to them, but would also take up a lot of their time.

An abstract is required. On December 8, 1998, a federal grand jury returned an indictment charging the defendant, John Bass, with intentional firearm killing of two individuals. Shortly thereafter, the United States filed a notice of intent to seek the death penalty. Bass, who is black, filed a motion to dismiss the death penalty notice and filed for discovery on a claim of discriminatory effect, The statistics requested included detailed information regarding the government’s capital punishment practices, alleging that the government was seeking the death penalty based on his race. The district court granted Bass’s motion and ordered the government to produce the documents. Upon the government’s refusal to comply, the District Court dismissed the death penalty notice. The United States then appealed its case to the United States Court of Appeals who affirmed the district court’s decision and remanded the United States to submit the requested materials for review. Subsequently the government appealed the matter to the United States Supreme Court who ruled in favor of the United States and reversed the Court of Appeal’s decision. The evidence submitted by the defendant John Bass, through the Department of Justice’s statistical data, was more than sufficient to support his claim of selective prosecution. The statistics provided by Bass showed that although whites make up the majority of federal prisoner’s, they account for only one-fifth of those charged with death-eligible offenses. Bass also introduced statistics that indicated blacks are no more likely to commit violent offenses than whites. The United States argued that although the evidence does show a racial disparity, the “similarly situated” and discriminatory intent requirements were not met. The Court of Appeals pointed out that Bass had identified a pool of similarly situated defendants, and this evidence clearly showed that the government entered plea bargains with one in two whites while it entered plea bargains with only one in four blacks. Despite the evidence of a discriminatory effect, the court ruled that Bass failed to show proof of any discriminatory effect and that the overall statistics had no bearing on charges brought against a “similarly situated” defendant. Furthermore, the Supreme Court ruled the plea bargaining statistics were even more irrelevant. The United States Supreme Court erred on this ruling. Clearly, the evidence introduced by Bass, indicate an obvious element of discriminatory effect, the raw statistics say everything about charges brought against “similarly situated” defendants. There is clearly a correlation between race and the United States capital punishment practices. The government’s refusal to comply with the District Court’s order of discovery and order to turn over material requested was sufficient reason to dismiss the notice of intent to seek the death penalty. The United States Court of Appeals was correct in their ruling, as was the district court. unfortunately, the United States Supreme Court was not. Works Cited United States v. John Bass. No. 01-1471. The project manager would ensure the direct coordination of the stakeholders for this project to consult and recommend strategies beneficial for the micro-credit program (Meredith, 2005). The project manager also takes care of the swift flow of the funds to the borrowers and their timely recovery for investment purpose. The innovative strategies on their part would be to ensure that all such plans reach the government level to the ministers with the coordination of the health ministry. Such plans would take a swift pass for quickening the process of better availability of the funds to the borrowers with better and affordable types of repayment schemes.

The information is prepared for the overall management and governance of the project. The various authorities are enrolled for this project to describe their position of influence and membership for the project.

This analysis and information are targeted at all the stakeholders who would like to review the strategies for the project at any point in time. The analysis would serve as a stage to determine the betterment of policies for the project. It would not only serve as reports but also gain borrowers confidence in the long run.

Write 6 pages with APA style on A New Approach for the Latino Community.

Write 6 pages with APA style on A New Approach for the Latino Community. Latinos are a term used for the people who belong to Latin America. This region consists of each country, each with its unique language, culture, and identity. But their immigration to other countries of the world like the United States of America and Spain have crushed their individual identity and made them popular as a collective unit, yet considered a minority and treated with biases and prejudice. This discrimination and highlight of a community aspect of Latinos have been mostly brought forward by the Spanish media, whether it be the television, newspapers, radio, or the likes. Such media propagation by any country gives further impetus to different countries to form stereotypes and biases for these people. An Argentinian has a totally different culture than the Bolivian who lives in the U.S., a Brazilian has different beliefs than a Colombian who works in the U.S., and Ecuadorian will have different thought processes than a person from Panama who study together in U.S. Such differences need to be highlighted. Latin America’s rich and diverse cultural needs to be brought in front of the world but what media does is only show a cross-section of population from Latin America, collectively labels them as Latinos, and ignores the diversity available in the region.

Other topics would just have been an addition to the database of various papers who talk about Latinos. But talking about the injustice that they go through and the situation of being referred to as “Latinos” puts them in an advantageous position as a community and at a disadvantage when it comes to their individuality. This ambiguous situation is difficult to weigh and talked about rarely. The Latinos know what they go through but I, being a student, subjected to the study of Latino culture, want to unravel their range of cultures and individuality as written and argued by prominent authors.

Many authors have written on the subject of Latino identity in the U.S. and propagation by the Spanish Media. Let us analyze each book and what went into the writing of each.

Hi, need to submit a 2500 words paper on the topic Quality improvement in long term care. 40% of the residents require assistance with feeding. The high numbers of non-ambulatory patients put this facility put it among only 10% in the state.

On May 10, 2004 the facility was investigated for a complaint which resulted in a substandard quality of care under Quality Indicator number 4, a prevalence of depression symptoms that also include two of the following. negative comments from residents, agitation or withdrawal, unpleasant mode upon waking, suicidal, weight loss or recurring thoughts of death.

I choose the number 4 Quality Indicator for Emotional/Behavior Patterns due to its effect on quality of life. It may also be the end result of the other deficiencies at the facility, which included a high percentage of indwelling catheters, excessive amounts of medications and lack of assistance with personal care. The Quality Indicators for Emotional/Behavior Patterns of agitation and suicide could be signs of overdose of antidepressant medications. Sadness and withdrawal might be symptoms of depression as well as thoughts of death or weight loss, which needs to be treated. Depression encompasses both physical and mental health and can alter the responsiveness to nutritional and physical therapy as well as medical treatments. This deficiency has a potential for more than minimal harm.
