Literature Review Resources

Successful completion of a doctoral dissertation requires significant amounts of independent reading on the research topic. This allows the doctoral learner/researcher to become familiar with the scope of the topic and to identify gaps or tensions within the existing literature on the topic. These gaps and tensions become the source of the dissertation research. In this assignment, you will read and annotate potential sources in your dissertation field of interest. Those demonstrating the most merit to the best of your understanding of the topic at this time should be added to your RefWorks list for potential inclusion in the literature review section of your dissertation.

General Requirements:

Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment:

· Locate the assignment submission for “Literature Review Resources” from PSY-830. You will be adding to this document to continue building a running literature review.

· It is strongly recommended that you engage in this activity throughout the duration of your program.

· Instructors will be scoring your submission based on the number of unique sources identified in the list submitted.

· Download the resource Literature Review Resources Tool and use it to complete the assignment. ATTACHED

· Doctoral learners are required to use APA style for their writing assignments.

· Refer to the resource, “Preparing Annotated Bibliographies,” located in the Student Success Center, for additional guidance on completing this assignment in the appropriate style.

Directions:

Read at least 10 empirical articles in your general dissertation field that you have not read previously.

In the “Literature Review Resources” document that you submitted in a previous course, provide the following for each source that you are adding to the document:

1. The APA-formatted citation.

2. A brief annotation of the key points of the source.

3. An indication of whether the source has been added to (Y) or excluded from (N) your RefWorks list.

Highlight the additions to the document so your instructor can readily identify them.v

Case Study II (Organizational Communication):

This is an opportunity for you to apply what you have learned in the course readings, discussions, and personal experiences in a well-developed analysis. There is no specific right or wrong answer with these cases, just a means to demonstrate your mastery of the knowledge.

Review the video in this week, What is Organizational Communication? and consider the various details associated with the theories they support. After examining all the data, consider an organization you know well and implement some of these ideas to increase the communication process within your organization. Consider how the organizational culture impacts these, how receptive leadership will be, and how employees will accept these changes.

Here are the minimal requirements for the assignment:

Identify the key and underlying issues. This is not a simple listing, but more of an in-depth analysis and application of the concepts and theories you have learned within the course.

Develop the key facts to support the issues. This is area that will require some thought with the expectation that you will only list pertinent data.

Discuss the solution to the problem and how to implement this to become more effective. This is an analysis of the problem within the Case Study. Also, make efforts to support your solutions with references from the textbook, readings, or other sources.

No more than 15% of your paper should be from direct quotes.

This is expected to be 2–3 pages (excluding the Title Page and Reference Page). Ensure the paper is typed, double-spaced, and enumerated on the top right corner in the margin with 1″ margins on all sides. Please use Times New Roman, 12-point font. In addition, submit the final copy as a .doc, not .pdf.  Do not submit an Abstract. You must include a Title and Reference Page.

All sources must be cited in APA format within the reference page and in-text citations.

The current edition of the APA is the guiding manual for form and style for this project. Each student is expected to find relevant, recent, and credible research. Under no circumstances will references from dictionaries or encyclopedias be accepted as references, including online sources such as Wikipedia.

Plagiarism

You are expected to write primarily in your own voice, using paraphrase, summary, and synthesis techniques when integrating information from class and outside sources. Use an author’s exact words only when the language is especially vivid, unique, or needed for technical accuracy. Failure to do so may result in charges of Academic Dishonesty.

Overusing an author’s exact words, such as including block quotations to meet word counts, may lead your readers to conclude that you lack appropriate comprehension of the subject matter or that you are neither an original thinker nor a skillful writer.

The current investigation seeks to display that Rousseau’s philosophy was based on a reverence for the state of nature. This led to the formation of a social contract out of this nature, so that the social contract became valorized in Rousseau’s work. The social contract states that nature is something that humanity overcomes for the benefit of its fellow humanity. The report then demonstrates how Locke had a similar idea of the social contract rising from a state of nature. Both thinkers shared similar valorization of nature, but there were definitely differences in terms of the extent to which this nature was valorized.

The social contract. This concept is important for an understanding of Rousseau’s political philosophy. “In Rousseau’s explanation of freedom, there is a division between two types of freedom. They are personal freedom and social freedom. Personal freedom comes from a human’s basic instincts and natural selfishness. An individual acts only if the benefits. Rousseau also called this freedom a state of nature” (Amezquita, 2010).

Rousseau was similar in his embrace of the social contract to Locke. Locke saw the natural state of human beings being a free state. He believed that society was social and cooperative, whereas other thinkers, like Hobbes, believed that society was an individualist and competitive. Locke saw war as being introduced into this basically peaceful nature and then continuing and adding to itself until it moved people to create civilization and social contracts, rather than seeing it as a natural state. In this state of civilization, people were more willing to give up personal authority but remained independent and free by nature. This theory has also had a lasting impact on society, even though it was more negative than Rousseau in terms of philosophy because it stresses individual freedoms’ importance.

That has been his daughter whom I have killed.

This proceeding remains to be fully unintentional. Moreover, I confess that it is happened because of prejudices that white people always have in accordance to Negroes. In that very moment I have been afraid of Mrs. Dalton who can notice me in the room of her lovely daughter. I have been drunk in that night. moreover I have taken the driver by deception. I have told my parents that I have a meeting at the university, but I have drive to my boyfriend by whom my parents are not very pleased. The matter is that Jan is a communist and his political views diverge from my father’s ones.

However, we have shown a nice attitude to Bigger. We have tried to talk with him and call him to communicate with our friends. He has seemed frightened because of our actions, but we have drunk a lot, and have not thought about his feelings and comfort in this very moment.

I must admit that in the process of his murdering me I have gave him a signs that I cannot breathe, but he has not stopped. I understand that Bigger has been afraid of punishment for being with me in my room, and I know that he has not wanted my mother to recognize him.
