write an article on impact of democracy on economic development Paper must be at least 250 words

Impact of Democracy on Economic Development This paper is an analysis of the mutual relationship between politics and economic development. It analyses the regime dynamics to show that when the paths to democracy vary due to any reasons democracy still survives in the developed countries. The questions that arise from my research are: do political regimes affect the economic development? And does economic development affect the emergence and survival of political regimes?

The two research questions are connected as to be able to determine how political regimes affect economic development, one must ask about the emergence and endurance to the political regimes. A case example is Mali. In the year 1985, per capita income of Mali was $532, dictatorship increased at a rate of 5.35%. Hence the question arises, could economic development have been different if there was democracy in Mali? A comparison of France indicates that in 1985, France which is a democracy had per capita income of $12206 and it grew at a rate of 1.43% (Ndulo 2006).

These statistics indicate that most poor countries have a slower economic development than the rich countries due to democracy. In 1985, Mali was not a democracy as it was full of dictatorship thus slow economic development while France which is a democracy experienced a fast economic growth. This assumption is however not very true as democratic nations are still prone to poor economic growth as there some are underlying factors that affect both economic development and democracy.

We can therefore conclude that democracies are common in economically developed countries as compared to poor countries that have a poor economic growth. The explanation behind this is not because democracies are likely to appear due to economic development, but because of their likelihood of survival should any eventuality occur. Democracy varies with different countries but when the correct democracy is applied there is a higher chance of economic survival.

Compose a 1500 words assignment on what qualifies as obscene since 1957 supreme court ruling

In this case, therefore, the definitions of pornography, obscenity, and erotica will vary, depending on the nature of a group and moral inclinations of an individual, as culture plays an important role in defining what is decent, moral, and acceptable (146). Nonetheless, this essay bases on different perspectives to address the elements of pornography, erotica, and obscenity, with reference to the 1957 Supreme Court decision on obscenity.

Lauer and Lauer note that, “One person’s pornography is another person’s literature” (147). Therefore, this is one of the main reasons, why the elements of pornography, erotica, and obscenity continue to evoke heated debate and disagreements. Like most social scientists, Lauer and Lauer define pornography as “literature, art, or films that are sexually arousing” (147). They also describe erotica as materials that arouse sexual feelings, but are not demeaning in nature, as opposed to pornography, which entails violent acts, including rape (Lauer and Lauer 147). On the other hand, Lauer and Lauer (148) consider obscenity to be a legal term, which is used to define pornography. They define this as “those materials that are offensive by generally accepted standards of decency” (148). The Supreme Court in 1957 made an important decision, which could act as a guideline in determining obscene material. However, Lauer and Lauer argue that this court ruling does not offer a perfect solution to the issue, as it raises more questions. Nonetheless, despite this law on obscenity, erotica, pornography, and obscenity remain prevalent today, and appear in different media, including magazines, internet, books, and videos, among others. Different evidence points to the fact that due to the easy accessibility of pornographic material, a large percentage of Americans are consumers of pornography, with the percentage of males being the highest (Lauer and Lauer 148).

submit a 250 words paper on the topic Communication or Improve Your Listening.

This has had adverse effects on my studies by forcing me to study harder in order to understand concepts that I fail to grasp during lectures or discussions. Attempts to shift focus from myself and my personal concerns are, however, a strategy to overcoming the barrier because shifting focus from self is likely to reduce the effects of my concerns on my concentration through establishing psychological stability. An effort to concentrating on a message in communication is another strategy to overcoming the barrier and is likely to increase the amount of information that I capture (Beebe, Steven & Beebe Susan, 2011).

A poor attitude is another barrier to my listening. I am often critical during communication and am quick to identify possible mistakes in a speaker’s presentations. I am equally judgmental over a speaker’s physical appearance and a negative attitude shifts my attention from a speaker and associated message. Focusing on message content, rather than its structure and the speaker, is the possible strategy to overcoming the barrier because it can reduce my criticism and improve my ability to capture information in communication by focusing on message details (Beebe, Steven & Beebe Susan, 2011).

Personal ethical codes with guidance and contribution from the society such as family members, friends, instructors, fellow employees, religious leaders, coaches, and role models aids in the development of the fundamentals identified early in life. From the case study, these codes of ethics must be important in the professional life of an engineer. Ethical codes are not synonymous with individuals and corporate persons, governments, and professions.

As professional, sound ethics is important to the proper growth of an individual professionally. According to Edel, (3), there is basically two questions about the uses of science in ethics: the extent of knowledge and the impact of science on morality. A Poor grasp of ethics issues corporate scandals encountered in the professional lives is as a result of poor handling of the issue.

These corporate scandals can arouse the wrath of the public damaging the career and corporate profile of the institutions that have failed to deal with the issue. Just like in other professions, an engineer’s failure to honor ethical duties of care to the public can be the thin line between the protection of an individual’s a society’s and a public’s health, safety, and welfare.

According to (Whitbeck, 161) safe and effective complaint procedures come in a variety of styles. other may in the form formally constituted, while others merely happen, in a de facto style. The engineer is entrusted with a high degree of responsibility, and such trust, reputation, competencies, and credibility must accompany the hardware and software tools that the engineers carry in their normal professional practice. From the case study shown by the short film, engineers need a professional code of ethics.

The engineering profession has not escaped the scandals that have affected other professions. In the business world, high public scandals such as Enron, amongst others have dominated their airwaves exposing unethical practices, which in turn lead many to lose huge investments.

The best quality wine is produced only when the fruit has been ripened to a level where it reaches a perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. The ripeness of grapes is influenced by the existing weather conditions as well. In order to produce the right type of wine it is crucial that everything from the level of ripeness the grapes have achieved to the existing weather are all in a perfect balance. Most of all the fermentation process is accelerated by a certain type of bacteria known as botrytis mold.

The latter part of the case takes an elaborate look at the different factors which impact its owner’s decisions regarding whether or not to harvest the grapes based on the weather predictions of an approaching storm. It discusses the ways in which the storm could affect the quality of wine and in turn its market price.

If the wine was perfectly botrytised the wine would be significantly superior in quality but its quantity would be reduced. This kind could produce fewer bottles but they could easily be priced relatively high at a price of $8.00.

The case study revolves around discussing all these factors which influence William Jaeger about deciding whether or not he should harvest the grapes prior to the approaching storm or wait for luck to strike. This is a critical decision to make and all possible options should be evaluated before taking a decision. There are several predictors of decision and various factors which have to be taken into consideration in order to decide whether the grapes should be harvested immediately or at a later stage.

The biggest problem is that Jaeger’s decisions are all based on assumptions about the weather forecast. Incase the assumptions fail, the consequential strategy will also be unsuccessful. Freemark Abbey can rent a weather detector to maximize surety.

Write a 1 page paper on merger dilemma

Merger Dilemma Merger Dilemma Many employees are usually affected by organizational changes. There is need for training In order to help employees cope with changes resulting from merging. Training will increase employees’ confidence to adapt to any changes caused by the merger process. The other method that will help employees adapt to change effectively includes explaining the benefits and importance of change to them and the whole organization. The process will help them develop positive attitude towards change. Involving employees in all phases of merging will motivate them to embrace changes (Schuler & Jackson, 2001).

One of the challenges that face merging business is conflict among employees. This is usually caused by differing cultures of the merged organizations. prepare and submit a term paper on Transport Techniques and Management.

This will, in turn, lead to changes in vehicle routing in the cities, and also, these changes will bring more complex transport mediums. &nbsp.&nbsp.&nbsp.&nbsp.&nbsp.

In this essay shows how the increasing growth in e-commerce has led to significant changes in the traditional distribution and logistics in the way the product is moved from the manufacturer to the customers.

The rapid growth in e-commerce is seen when the forecast for the change is made. Around 92% of retailers are selling online in today’s generation, while only 68% have brick-and-mortar stores. B2B e-commerce business has more value than B2C e-commerce, and there is a vast difference between the two, and the difference is also expected to grow with time.

The maturity of different e-commerce and different home delivery services varies in a massive way like transporting large items to home and the traditional markets are more preferred for buying large items than the e-commerce sites which is mainly chosen to purchase small items and also grocery items (Brandimarte and Giulio, 2007, pp. 23-28). This is because the traditional markets are the mature ones and have more security, and people tend to have more faith in them than on e-commerce sites to buy large items. In the case of B2C, the distribution activity has a start and end. thus, many potential changes can be seen in the urban areas. Therefore, for an e-commerce business to have an efficient, profitable, and reliable business process, it needs to have an efficient, reliable, and low-cost transportations system. The cost incurred in picking up the order will include below. As a result, it could be a significant bathe river to the e-commerce business. Even with the freight service being of low cost, it must see that the services can achieve the required level of efficiency and reliability, which is expected by the customers whose expectations always keep increasing. The present distribution channel for an e-commerce business most challenging to meet the customers’ expectations, and it needs to continuously make significant changes in the distribution channel to satisfy the customer’s expectations (Gourdin, 2006, pp. 46-52). The existing distribution channels have already reached their saturation points, and the customers’ expectations are beyond their level of efficiency.&nbsp.

prepare and submit a paper on the language and use of acceptable usage policy.

In the parts of this paper, usage reasons, such as detection of abuse, appropriate usage of technology, and liability protection, have been detailed and discussed as well. It is followed by a description pertaining to the international boundaries, highlighting the risk and complexity involved in detecting and preventing cybercrimes. Before the paper conclusion part, legitimate uses of AUPs with an example have been included.

Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP) refers to a set of policies that control and restrict access and usage of networks, systems, websites, and information as well (Johnson, 2014). These are policies in which a range of user classifications, type of access, level of access, time of access, and all those policy guidelines are provided which are highly essential for the related users. Additionally, policies not only highlight the given or provided accesses to the users but also stipulate restrictions that cannot and should not be violated by the users. Furthermore, the provided policies cannot be specified in a number of pages as they are developed by taking into account organizational factors, user requirements, legal and business framework in which the organization operates. consequently, it can be deduced that the AUPs can be a long list of activities reflecting both dos and don’ts as well (Horwitz, 2003). In other words, it can be highlighted that general requirements or policies cannot be provided in the AUPs but only specific policies can be developed and that must be in cognizance with the related regulatory framework. For example, it is not possible for a Business 2 Business entity to develop an AUP by keeping in view the business model of Business 2 Customer entity because it will not be feasible and practical for the organization to implement the AUP.

Restrictions can be practically applied through enabling and controlling the access of users. The Internet is composed of numerous networks which have created their own virtual world in which they cross local, national and international boundaries and provide access to millions of users globally. so, in order to provide access only to legitimate users, it is highly essential to develop and implement AUP (Fielden, 2001).
