prepare and submit a term paper on Democracy as a Form of Government.

You will prepare and submit a term paper on Democracy as a Form of Government. Your paper should be a minimum of 1250 words in length. The first one is a procedural definition by Schumpeter who defined democracy as an institutional arrangement used to make political decisions in which the citizens are given the power to decide through the competitive struggle for votes of the electorates. The second definition suggests that democracy is an institutional arrangement which is used to arrive at a political decision which achieves the common good of the people by allowing them to decide on certain issues by electing individuals who come together to carry out the will of the people.

Illiberal democracy is also referred to as pseudo-democracy or partial democracy. This is a type of democracy in which the citizens are not allowed to have civil liberties. Although the citizens are allowed to participate in elections, they do not have the right to knowledge about the activities of those who are in power. It is a kind of society which is not open, and they cannot be categorised as free or not free societies. Illiberal democracy is caused by a limiting constitution which limits the powers of the government and ignores the liberties of the citizens.

In some illiberal democracies, there are inadequate legal constitutional liberties of the people. Illiberal democracy occurs when the two concepts of electoral democracy and civil liberties grow apart rather than coming together. Mair further adds that illiberal democracies occur when the electoral process is followed by shortcomings in terms of inadequate constitutional liberties and/or limits on the exercise of power by the executives. Furthermore, illiberal democracy is a growing phenomenon which has never reached liberal democracy. in fact, moving towards more illiberalism. Democracies which fail to foster both the two pillars of political participation and civil rights are considered as illiberal democracies.

A hybrid regime is a political regime which combines both elements of an autocratic system and a democratic system.&nbsp.

Write a paper on new technology work and the economy

I need some assistance with these assignment. new technology work and the economy Thank you in advance for the help! It complements other organizational management initiatives in providing a focus on the sustenance of competitive advantage. Every company has its own unique knowledge management strategy. To understand how knowledge management affects work and the economy, it is important to understand what it is in all aspects (Christensen, 2003).

There is no universal definition of knowledge management, but a few experts have tried to put to words what this kind of management entails. Knowledge management is the term used to refer to the “collection of processes that govern the creation, dissemination, and utilization of knowledge” (Newman, 2002). It can also be said to be the systematic process by which information is found, selected, organized, distilled and presented. This systematic process is carried out in a way that serves to improve the employees’ understanding of a particular area of interest. In other words, knowledge management is a process that should be used to enhance the objectives and goals of the organization (Nonaka, 2002).

Knowledge management allows an organization to achieve its goals and objectives. This means that knowledge management is an important factor that contributes to the organization’s long term success without putting too much strain on the existing resources. All the different definitions are similar in that they emphasize the importance of the organization as a whole in the process of knowledge management. Most of the definitions point out that knowledge emanates from individuals and that not a single one of them knows everything. It is therefore important to manage all this knowledge so that everyone in the organization can gain something from one another (Christensen, 2003).

The aim of any organization is to ensure that it is as profitable as possible. Mnprofitability can be achieved in many ways, including proper knowledge management. Effective knowledge management makes it possible for a company to serve customers to&nbsp.the best of its ability.&nbsp.

prepare and submit a term paper on Gear Ratio in Mechanisms.

You will prepare and submit a term paper on Gear Ratio in Mechanisms. Your paper should be a minimum of 1250 words in length. Gears are also used to make work easier- a simple gear system can be devised to lift or move heavy weights (Gallagher, 2006). This is achieved through a proper combination of the gear ratio. Gear ratio refers to the ratio in the angular velocity of the input gear and the output gear, which is brought about by the difference in the number of teeth between the two gears. The aspect of variation in motions within a gear system is brought about by the difference in the number of teeth within the involved gears.

A combination of a gear kit and a motor can be used to make a lifting machine. This involves materials like motor, battery, circuit, six gears, and two sprockets. The six gears should be of varied teeth. The battery is used as the motive power to provide energy to run the motor. The connection between the motor and the battery is enhanced by a circuit, which is a combination of electrical wires.

The gears should be connected to each other through the sprockets, with the gears with many teeth directly connected to the motor. When the motor rotates by the impulse of electricity, the motion is impacted on the gear systems, whose motion is increased with the variation of the number of teeth in the gears (Gallagher, 2006). The increase in motion from the motor through the gearbox to the lifting lever leads to increased output which leads to a resultant force lifting an object. The complete machine should include a battery connected to a DC motor by electricity wires-probably made of copper, the motor connected to the gear system by use of the sprocket, and the gear system connected to the lifting system by the output sprocket.

The lifting of the weights is indirectly proportional to the number of gears used, and the sizes of their sprockets. The use of large gears will enhance little motion and lifting of little weight while the use of small gears brings about a greater force. A gear with a small one sprocket will provide a resultant force capable of lifting an approximated weight of 50grams.

Write a paper on guns, germs, and steel

I need some assistance with these assignment. guns, germs, and steel Thank you in advance for the help! As Diamond explains, the conquest of Peru by the imperial Spanish came to a climax in 1562 when the Spanish Conquistador Francisco Pizarro conquered Inca emperor Atahualpa. During this battle, several things happened which actually proved how the culture of germs, guns, and steel could be used in manipulating an already existing empire. I would like to begin by saying that Francisco successfully used guns to win the battle against his opponents. Although the emperor of Inca had a lot of soldiers in his base at Cajamarca, Peru, he was still defeated by his Spanish invaders who only had a handful of soldiers. To, the Spanish, the number of military men did not matter. What mattered was the type of weapons being used during the fight. Therefore, since the Spanish had high technology, they would manufacture superior weapons which really enabled them to defeat their enemies during the battle at Cajamarca. This was the ultimate reason for the success of the Spanish soldiers in this war.

While the Inca soldiers were using inferior weapons such as stones, wooden clubs, quitted armors, bronze, and slingshots, their Spanish counterparts were boasting of more powerful steel armors and swords. This is an instance of a gun at work. Meaning, it is obvious that people with superior weapons stand a better chance of winning a battle if they are fighting with those in possession of inferior ones. Therefore, Diamond is right for saying that the Incas were defeated. Their weaponry would be a big blow to them.

On the other hand, I would like to agree with this author for attributing the Spanish Conquistador Francisco Pizarro’s victory to the germs.&nbsp.

research paper on fabrication of microelectrodes and pdms molding of microfluidic structures.

Need an research paper on fabrication of microelectrodes and pdms molding of microfluidic structures. Needs to be 5 pages. Please no plagiarism. The experiment is carried out in clean-room for micro and nanotechnology. The process begins with the preparation of a clean substrate followed by photoresist application, exposure and developing, etching, and finally photoresist removal. These steps are illustrated in the figure below.

In this experiment we fabricated a microelectrodes array which is suitable for use in studying the AC electrokinetic phenomena of electrorotation and dielectrophoresis. We performed the fabrication using a glass substrate from a gold/chrome film. A seed layer of thin chrome (5nm) is used to promote adhesion of thicker inert gold film (70 nm) to the substrate. The fabrication is performed in a clean-room. In this report we will present the method used, the result of fabrication of electrodes, and also discuss the positive and negative result. Finally we will discuss why the results happened the way they did and how to overcome the negative results.

The first step in our process is to clean the substrate. We took six glass microscope slides and placed them into a staining jar covered with a 100% solution of Decon 90 detergent. Then, the staining jar was placed in the Decone ultrasonic bath for 5 minutes to ultrasonically clean the slides.

After that, we removed the staining jar from the ultrasonicator and then, at the sink, the glass slides were removed from the staining jar and it was rinsed thoroughly with hot tap. Individually the slides were dried using the wall blow dryer, hand dryer or hair dryer. Then, we placed the clean slides in a covered Petri dish.

The second step we followed was for deposition of metal films by evaporation using an Edwards 306 Turbo Evaporator. We turned on evaporator and set it to the required condition. Then, we placed the holder on a table and inserted the clean slides using the spring loaded clips.

After that, we placed the glass slides on a substrate holder and replaced it by aligning&nbsp.the flat on the spindle with hexagonal nut and tightening them.&nbsp.

prepare and submit a paper on respond post.

Your assignment is to prepare and submit a paper on respond post. Finance and Accounting Response Essay al Affiliation Jones etal. highlight on the complexity of the tax code and the difficulty that arises in trying to understand it. Many proposals have been drafted with the aim of simplifying the tax code. For instance, the flat tax where income is to be taxed at a flat rate. They propose that such a system would generate the same tax as current systems or even more. Further, such a system is easier to comprehend. My response to this proposal is that I do not believe or support the idea that everyone should be taxed at the same rate. Moreover, I am of the opinion that when the need for tax increase arises, which is normal, it would be difficult to get support from the public as they would interpret it as an increase in cost of living. Second, the writer highlights the proposal that a national sales tax should be established. In brief, the system would involve collecting sales tax at all retail establishments equal to 23% instead of taxing income. My response is in favor of the proposal. This is because the system would spread the tax burden evenly. This is because everyone buys things. Therefore, it curbs means of cheating and evading tax.

2. According to the article, Income Tax Reform and Flat Tax, the federal tax code is too detailed and lengthy. The writers propose a flat rate tax on income. It will make sure citizens have more money in their pockets as well as eliminate bureaucracy, long and expensive procedures during filing. Another proposal is Simple Exact Tax, and that is pure, fair and pro-growth. My response is that reform is necessary as we are evolving. The current system consumes time and money. Any error in the forms is fined by the government making the system very demanding (Jones, Thomas, & T.Lang, 2012). With the introduction of new taxes like medical excise tax, it gets more frustrating.

3. The White House and Treasury Department have released Business Tax Reform that has suggestions for simplifying tax law and stimulate economic growth. The document proposes adoption of methods that will make it easier for people to start and run startups by reducing the deductions (The White House and the Department of the Treasury, 2012). My response is that if the suggestions are to be adopted, they will spell success for most people. The benefits from this reform would provide a more generous phase-out schedule and considerably simplify and restructure the tax credit rules

submit a 1500 words paper on the topic The Benefits of Technology on Education and Simple Interventions.

Hi, need to submit a 1500 words paper on the topic The Benefits of Technology on Education and Simple Interventions. Deciding on a technological solution for one’s educational environment depends on answers to these three related concerns. As the ease of use for technology increases, and as students come into the classroom increasingly knowledgeable about how to use computers and mobile devices, it seems that more technology is being used in educational contexts. When used properly, technology has the promise to greatly benefit students in mathematics, readings, as well as other subjects. making the most of it, however, requires careful pedagogical decisions and considerations as any change in the classroom bears inherent risks for the welfare of the student.

The discussion about the possible effects of technology is most often framed in a way that pits attention to learning as opposed to attention to distractions. Educational institutions are reluctant to embrace technology, especially games and social networking, as a means of training (Klopfer, Osterweil, Groff, & Haas, 2009). However, this reluctance may not be entirely deserved, outside of the stereotype of a young child sitting in front of his computer instead of sitting in front of a book. These two spheres of interaction need not be phrased in terms of oppositions. for instance, the emergence of the electronic book has made it possible for interaction with text and interaction with computers to be simultaneous acts (Rose, Meyer, & Strangman, 2002). In the classroom, this integration of experience may be beneficial in terms of providing exposure to the curriculum being taught and to developing technologies.

As mentioned previously, an important consideration in this regard is the level of technology a teacher is (a) comfortable with and (b) capable of using in an educational setting. Guzman and Nussbaum (2009) focus on “domains and competencies linked to teacher training propositions for technology integration” (p. 453). The most helpful point of organizing propositions about teachers’ technology in this way is that we realize that a high level of comfortability or capability with technology is not a necessary and sufficient condition for bringing about a particular educational outcome for students.

Write a 34 pages paper on leadership style of the united arab emirates construction sector.

Write a 34 pages paper on leadership style of the united arab emirates construction sector. The construction industry has suffered from a leadership crisis in recent years, in spite of the growth of construction companies (Brouer & Scwedhelm, 2002). The leadership crisis has slowed down the development of the industry because the leaders lack the necessary style to lead and achieve the desired objectives. Effective leadership is vital in an organization to attain goals and promote professional achievements at an individual level (Loo, 2002). The construction industry is composed of several closely related sectors. The process of establishing requirements is complex. It would benefit from sound leadership styles and management skills (Bossink, 2004. Opfer, Kloppenborg & Shrinber, 2002).

Leaders must be able to satisfy the conflicting requirements of multiple players while simultaneously supporting the organizational success (Goetsch and Davis, 2006). In addition, effective leadership must facilitate successful growth of professional careers in the same field. Such leadership style is essential for the execution of projects (Cooper & Schriesheim, 2005). The effectiveness of different leadership styles varies according to job roles. For example, the literature argues that participatory leadership in the construction industry is necessary for executives, while project managers and superintendents must possess autocratic styles of leadership (Loosemore, 2003). The dimensions of transactional and transformational leadership have a separate impact on organizational performance. The United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) construction sector is an industry in which the application of the transactional and transformational leadership and practices are highly relevant (Newton, 2009. Briggs, 2008).

To acquire a culture of high productivity and improve the construction industry, leadership styles and their essence play a central role (Berry & Cartwright, 2000). The industry must establish professionals to work at different levels of construction projects. Managerial positions in the construction industry fall under project executives, project managers, field engineers, and office engineers (Collinson, 2005). A successful executive must be intelligent, imaginative, and inspirational.

Motivation can also be achieved through a simple gesture of employee recognition. This is in line with awarding what an employee has achieved as it works to boost his or her self esteem.&nbsp. &nbsp. The American workforce is made up of people from various walks of life. Its diversity is notable. With this in mind, it is necessary to consider the interpersonal relationships within the working environment. An organization can only do well if at all every employee, irrespective of their affiliations and backgrounds, is working towards achieving a similar objective. This is an aspect of cohesion such that a good leader will work on harmony, cohesion, and unity in the workplace. Technological advancement is a force to reckon with in any given organization. Those who have embraced it have reaped its benefits with respect to levels of motivation that can be inspired within an organization. America has embraced technology and therefore incorporated the various related aspects to ensure efficiency in the operation of the organizations. In this case, technological events have played a key role to influence current attitudes of leadership (Mind-tools.com, 1).

In America, people are aware of their rights. It is evident how the issue of equality has taken center stage in many heated debates. Minority groups such as women, children and the gay, to have their rights that should be equally respected. These groups are known to play one part or another in various organizations. Currently, a leader has to be very sensitive to such issues in order to realize efficiency within the organization. In conclusion, leadership styles have transformed from one level to another. This is necessary to keep up with the dynamic nature of the world. Adaption ensures that a leader is on the leading edge rather than a trailing edge.&nbsp.&nbsp.
