answer question in attachment

you basically have to watch a documentary (which i posted the link for it in the attachment) and then answer the question in the attachment. I also provided a sample of an answer by another student which you can take a look at. But first you need to watch the documentary then answer the question (2 paragraphs or so similar to the sample of the other student’s length)

Week 3 DB 2

Critical reading and writing relies on the development of intentional skills.  Critical reading requires that you drill down into the intention of the writer in order to discern the thoughts, ideas, feelings, and message the writer sought to convey.  When you read critically, you are able to engage more meaningfully to the material and better interpret text to make rich mental connections.

Critical reading is the bridge to help you develop your writing skills.  What you write for college courses needs to be accurate, logical, carefully reasoned, and thoughtfully crafted.  College-level writing is more structured and formal than most of your daily writing. For example, writing a paper for this class follows a much different process than writing an e-mail or text message to your best friend.

All four Learning Patterns contribute to excellent writing and you will need to focus on those Patterns you Avoid as strongly as those you Use First. Practice the critical reading strategies in Chapter 3 and deeply read the stories of Makayla, John, Paul, and Raheem in Section 3.3. (Using your Learning Patterns to Master Critical Writing).

  1. For each of the four learners, provide two to three sentences of advice for how they could have field-fitted their Learning Patterns for their specific situation.  For example, Makayla was ruled by her Sequence.  What would you recommend that she do to overcome her overdependence on Sequence when approaching writing tasks?
  2. Considering the stories of the learners from Chapter 3 and reflecting on your own unique Learning Patterns, what challenges may you experience as you approach college-level reading and writing assignments?  Identify at least three strategies that you read about in Chapter 3 or the Instructor Guidance that can help you overcome these challenges.

Your initial post should contain a minimum of 250 words.

Response to Peers:  Review your classmates’ posts and respond to at least two, each with a minimum of 50 words.  Compare and contrast how your Learning Patterns influence your approach to college-level writing assignments with your peer.  Provide suggestions for how they can better field-fit their Learning Patterns when approaching written assignments.

TIPS:
This discussion is asking you to do four things:

  1. Read the four learner stories from section 3.3 of Chapter 3.  Provide advice to each learner that could have helped them “field-fit” their Patterns more successfully (part a).
  2. Reflect on and explain challenges you may face (based on your Learning Patterns) as you approach college-level reading and writing assignments (part b).
  3. List three strategies you read about in Chapter 3 or the Instructor Guidance that could help you overcome challenges (part b).
  4. Respond to at least two of your classmates’ discussion posts.  Use the “Response to Peers” to assist you with your reply.

Type a heading for each section (e.g., My Advice for Makayla, John, Paul, and Raheem), and then write the information under each heading in complete sentences. This helps the reader quickly identify each section and helps you know that you have covered all of the requirements for this post.

TWO INDUSTRIES

Use the Internet to research the Best Places to Work (http://www.greatplacetowork.com/).  Select two companies from two different industries on the Fortune 100 list.

Write a five to six (5-6) page paper (cover and reference pages are not included in the required assignment page length.) in which you:

1.     Compare and contrast the two (2) industries you have identified in terms of size, products, services, customers, economic and regulatory environment.

2.     Describe the mission, vision, values and core business practices of each of the companies you selected.

3.     Recommend four to five (4-5) possible HR strategies that will support each organization’s mission, vision, values and core business practices for each company. Support your recommendations.

4.     Identify how your recommended HR strategies will promote a competitive advantage for each company within their industry. Provide a rationale for your position.

5.     Use at least five (5) academic quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia does not qualify as an academic resource.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format.

  • Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date.

    The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:

  • Evaluate the different forms of business ownership to determine the optimal structure in different scenarios and the process for a business start-up.

  • Integrate the core human resource management functions and considerations into viable recommendations to meet the organization’s operating requirements.

  • Use technology and information resources to research issues in contemporary business.

  • Write clearly and concisely about contemporary business using proper writing mechanics.

Assignment 2: Database Systems and Database Models
Due Week 2 and worth 90 points

The Strayer Oracle Server may be used to test and compile the SQL Queries developed for this assignment. Your instructor will provide you with login credentials to a Strayer University maintained Oracle server.

Imagine that you have been hired as a consultant to assist in streamlining the data processing of an international based organization that sells high-end electronics. The organization has various departments such as payroll, human resources, finance, marketing, sales, and operations. The sales department is the only department where employees are paid a commission in addition to their yearly salary and benefits. All other departments compensate their employees with a yearly salary and benefits only. Commission is paid by multiplying the employee’s commission rate by the total amount of product units sold. You have access to the following data sets:

Employee (EmpNumber, EmpFirstName, EmpLastName, CommissionRate, YrlySalary, DepartmentID, JobID)

Invoice (InvNumber, InvDate, EmpNumber,  InvAmount)

InvoiceLine (InvLineNumber, InvNumber,  ProductNumber, Quantity)

Product (ProductNumber, ProductDescription, ProductCost)

Department (DepartmentID, DepartmentDescription)

Job (JobID, JobDescription)

Write a two to three (2-3) page paper in which you:

Design a query that will allow the finance department to determine the commissions paid to specific employees of the sales department for the month of December. Note: You will need to generate the tables described above (Employee, Invoice, InvoiceLine, Product, Department, and Job) in order to compare and validate your code. Validated query code must be part of your paper.

Compare the code of the query you designed in Question one (1) to one that would show how much total compensation is paid to each employee for the same month.

Determine and explain the factors necessary to ensure referential integrity.

Create an object-oriented model to show how the tables are interrelated through the use of graphical tools such as Microsoft Visio, or an open source alternative such as Dia. Make sure that you are able to show the relationship types such as 1:M, 1:1, or M:1. Additionally, remember to include the determined factors from the previous assignment requirement. Note: The graphically depicted solution is not included in the required page length.

Identify which data components are the entities and attributes, and the relationship between each using an object representation diagram through the use of graphical tools such as Microsoft Visio, or an open source alternative such as Dia. Note: The graphically depicted solution is not included in the required page length.

Describe how Big Data could be used to assist in the productivity and forecasting of the organization’s products and resources.

An investor wants to compare the risks associated with two different stocks. One way to measure the risk of a given stock is to measure the variation in the stock’s daily price changes.

In an effort to test the claim that the variance in the daily stock price changes for stock 1 is different from the variance in the daily stock price changes for stock 2, the investor obtains a random sample of 21 daily price changes for stock 1 and 21 daily price changes for stock 2.

The summary statistics associated with these samples are: n
1 = 21, s
1 = .725, n
2 = 21, s
2 = .529.

If you compute the test value by placing the larger variance in the numerator, at the .05 level of significance, would you conclude that the risks associated with these two stocks are different?
