prepare and submit a term paper on Health Information Confidentiality.

You will prepare and submit a term paper on Health Information Confidentiality. Your paper should be a minimum of 500 words in length. HIPAA and HITECH Acts al Affiliation) What are some safeguards that you think can reduce fear among individuals and groups who oppose identifiable health data collection?

Some patients still exhibit fear towards the current information security systems with the belief that their privacy could be breached through the various gaps that exists in the systems (Hebda & Czar, 2013). It is important for various institutions to embrace different security strategies such as appointing security officers on Private Boards and IRBs, who would assess the needs for data protection and implement staff training among other solutions. The use of encoding and encryption techniques on removable media and laptops would also help protect identifiable personal health information and thus promote patient confidence in the existing systems. In addition, through implementing breach notification requirements, patients protect their identity if a breach occurs (Hebda & Czar, 2013).

Do the benefits of confidential health data collection outweigh the risks? Why or why not?

The benefits of collecting the confidential data of patients are more than the risks. It is important for the health care providers to conduct a review of the appropriate utilization and protection to ensure that patient data is protected (Davies & Collins, 2006). Improved technology and the current development of security software have made it possible for health care organizations to protect the private data of their patients and reduce the risk of data breaching.

What, according to you, is the purpose of HITECH?

The major purpose of HITECH in to develop a nationwide electronic health records network that would allow for proper linking of health care professionals in ensuring quality health care for all citizens. The Act aims at promoting investment into information technology and thus promotes safety, quality health care, and efficiency in health management (Davies & Collins, 2006).

What are the new notification requirements? Do you feel these are sufficient? Why or why not?

The new HITECH notification requirements include notification of patients in the occurrence of an unsecured breach. In case the breach has an impact on more than 500 individuals, then there is need for the HHS to be aware (Institute of Medicine, 2009). Such notification will allow for automatic posting of the name of the entity that is carrying out the breach on the HHS website. The local media also have to be notified considering various conditions. These requirements are greatly effective in ensuring that the patients are kept up to date of any breach and that the involved entities are brought to book. This allows for timely counteraction of a breach and securing of patient data.

What possible HIPAA violations could occur with portable PHI?

The use of portable PHI could result in HIPAA violation involving the breaching of individual private data. Portable devices such as mobile phones store data on the devices, either in the SIM card, memory card, or the onboard memory, exposing such information to breaching (Hebda & Czar, 2013). Such portable devices are not encrypted and thus the PHI could be shared by anyone who accesses the device. In addition, the devices lack authentication, thus allowing for accessibility of the information by any individual.

What strategies should be put into place to make sure these violations do not occur?

Measures against HIPAA violations involve performing periodic assessments of the risks involved in mobile device use and ascertaining the presence of proper encryption, authentication, and physical protections that safeguard PHI. Installing and frequently updating anti-malware on portable devices could also prove helpful in preventing breaching of PHI (Institute of Medicine, 2009). In addition, biometric authentication tools could be adopted in the verification and authorization of individuals using portable devices such as mobile phones.

What are the requirements that a covered organization must take to be in compliance with HIPAA?

The HIPAA requirements for covered entities include obtaining of satisfactory assurance that any involved business associate will properly secure Protected Health Information (PHI). The Covered entities are also not expected to carry out monitoring practices. They are also expected to facilitate curing or termination of a contract in the case a known violation takes place (National Institute of Health, 2007).

Create a 2 pages page paper that discusses how do we create a set of priorities in relation to population and environment. How do we create a set of priorities in relation to population and environment?

The question that gets asked when one is dealing with a population or the environment is why prioritize? This is because all human being would want to save and handle all the issues within their environment. Human beings have plenty of things to do, but as a result of limited time and or energy, they cannot deal with them all. It is key to prioritize because some matters may be graver than others and availability of resources is also a factor. Many things get left undone, no matter how hard one tries. Priorities normally capitalize on opportunities that are available. It has got to do with the anticipated returns, the risk that becomes potentially faced and the timing of the returns (McMullin-Messier 34). To be able to create a set of priorities, one must have the ability to see what tasks are more vital at each moment and give such tasks more of their energy, time and attention. When one focuses his or her efforts on those top value activities, one can have meaningful and significant, long term consequences.

Provision of healthcare should become a priority for all nations worldwide. This is because a great percentage of loss of life is as a result of either lack of or poor health care. This issue also gets surrounded by many political, institutional and environmental constraints. This influences decision making in the health care section because, during the process, there are numerous interest groups and weaknesses in democratic voting mechanisms. If health care does not become a priority, then many parties manipulate the decisions that pertain to the provision of health care and vary the quality of care distributed among the population. This may be extremely risky for a nation because if the population is not healthy then there is a reduction in production. Prioritizing healthcare will lead to better care, affordable care and healthy people. This will improve health outcomes and increase the effectiveness of care for all populations (McMullin-Messier 89). More resources should be allocated to the healthcare sector in terms of money, manpower, machines and researchers. More opportunities should also get provided for those that are interested to study medicine in order to avail more manpower for this sector.

Environmental movements worldwide should also be prioritized because the key goal of such organizations is improve the environment and maintain what is still good. They tackle environmental issues worldwide that deal with climate change, air pollution, water pollution, human encroachment and deforestation. These organizations should be prioritized because they do not deal with environmental issues in an abstract manner. They are immensely hands on as they interact closely with different populations. They become particularly successful in changing the attitudes of citizens on issues that concern loss of ecosystems used for inexpensive recreation. We need to prioritize them and provide them with resources that can enable them change citizens behaviors in terms of lifestyle modification. If nations are to prioritize environmental organizations, it means they can dictate the environmental issues that they would wish these organizations to tackle more like global warming.

Distinguishing what is crucial among many things that we care about is always terribly difficult. Prioritization happens long before decisions can be made. This is because there are issues that are more urgent than others. When thinking of issues that deal with population and environment, one should prioritize something that will use the resources and opportunities it has to bring changes to more than a single sector of the population or environment. For example if we tackle healthcare it means that we tackle production indirectly (McMullin-Messier 148). This is because a healthy population produces more. This is similar for the environmental organizations. They are able to deal with more than one issue at a go.

Hi, need to submit a 2750 words paper on the topic William Connor Case Study for Cruise Industry. This “William Connor Case Study for Cruise Industry” essay describes the dissimilarities flanked by the proponents and adversaries of approach, in so as to a conversation is based on why planning is much maligned by its opponents. Strategic organization has usually been portrayed as rotating approximately the separate stages of formulation, accomplishment, and manages, approved out in approximately cascade ladder for ships. These are three stepladder of the intended move toward to plan involves an official procedure to approach configuration: problem consciousness, the growth of explanations and the assortment of an answer (Forbes and Fletcher, 2000). In the similar background, Marlo (2000) indicate a intended approach encompass of a announcement of detailed and spoken meaning, holders with official gearshift (Boisot, M., and Child, J, 2004, 600-628).

Jauch and Osborn (1991) observations with his understanding that towards a triumphant outcome of the approach, a firm arrangement is essential for an association. Hence all choices complete from the top organization can be approved out all through the association, with the “populace” persuaded and act in ways that are predictable to create attractive consequences ad hoc to the diagram. Therefore, strategy-making power rests with top organization, consigns a federal power in an association. In vision of the onward looking natural earth of a intended approach, Mazzolini (1988) experiential that goals or purpose fulfillments are the dangerous ending of the approach.

write an article on What Are the Implied Contracts.

Hello, I am looking for someone to write an article on What Are the Implied Contracts. It needs to be at least 250 words. The determining factors for implied contracts include the conduct of the parties involved in the contract and the level of trust that exists between the parties. Showing the intention to pay the sum also plays a decisive role in implied contracts. As in our case, McDougal did not say even a single word and just waved his hand at Krunch, which showed his intention to pay later. Trust and expectation play a vital role in implied contracts. Implied contracts are made on the basis of reason, understanding, and tradition.

Silence can be treated as an act of acceptance but in very rare cases. In the case of trustworthy relationships, acceptance does not need to be communicated to the other person in order to be effective. For example, in the case of implied contracts, silence is used as a gesture for acceptance that is based on the factors of trust and confidence in the other party. However, in all other forms of contracts, there must be an agreement between the parties regarding consideration of silence as acceptance because, without any such agreement, silence can never be considered as an acceptance of the other party does not intend to accept any specific contract.

Create a 2 pages page paper that discusses dan bricklin and visicalc.

Create a 2 pages page paper that discusses dan bricklin and visicalc. Dan Bricklin and Visicalc Dan Bricklin Dan Bricklin invented visicalc, as he was not satisfied with the progress of the computer related innovations. He invented visicalc in 1978 to simplify the complicated spreadsheets. His invention of the visicalc spreadsheet brought recognition not only to his name but the company he worked for – Apple Computer.

The credit of inventing visicalc goes to both — Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston, as Dan Bricklin helped Bob Frankston in writing the programming for his novel electronic spreadsheet. It was the time when Dan Bricklin was pursuing his master degree in business administration from Harvard Business School. They started a company by the name of Software Arts Inc., to develop this product (Belis par. 2).

Bricklin was awarded the Grace Murray Hopper Award by the Association for Computing Machinery in November 1981 to reward him for his innovative product but Bricklin could not get it patented till 1981, as before that the Supreme Court did not allow patents of software programs (Belis par. 5). Great thing about Dan Bricklin was that in stead of feeling the financial loss for not getting visicalc patented, he was proud that he had helped the world through the innovation. His satisfaction rather than monetary benefits mattered to him the most (Belis par. 6).

Visicalc

Visicalc was the first spreadsheet invented by Dan Bricklin and his companion Bob Frankston. The visicalc spreadsheet program was opened for the public in 1979, to run on an Apple II computer. Visicalc brought in a new parameter in application software. before the arrival of visicalc, microprocessor computers got the desired support from BASIC and some games. With the introduction of visicalc, it was categorized as the fourth generation software program. Earlier calculations were done through manual spreadsheets, which required time and financial resources. Any change in a single digit required re-computing the entire sheet, including each single cell. Visicalc made it possible to change any cell resulting in automatic re-computing of the whole sheet (Belis par. 1).

The past Apple machines could not provide answers because there were limited tools. Continuous debugging was the only resolve to single out the problem by looking at memory in the restricted debugging, which was slower than the DOS DEBUG, as lacking symbols. It was a time-consuming process of patching and retesting and then re-programming, downloading, and testing again and again (Belis par. 3).

The II version of visicalc became available in the fall of 1979 and the process for writing versions for the Tandy TRS-80, Commodore PET, and the Atari 800 began afterwards. Computer retail stores started selling visicalc at US $100 in October 1979 (Belis par. 4).

Visicalc was bought very soon by Lotus Development Corporation. Here, it was developed into the Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet for the PC in 1983. (Belis par. 5).

Future progress on visicalc was made by Mitch Kapor, the founder of Lotus who released the famous Lotus 123 spreadsheet in 1983, enriching it with his past programming expertise with visicalc to develop 123, which was based on visicalc.

prepare and submit a paper on cape cod national seashore.

Your assignment is to prepare and submit a paper on cape cod national seashore. The paper has headings and subheadings for each aspect they talked about. Even a person new to the process of mediation will be able to understand this article. The simplicity of the vocabularies used also helped in this regard. The only problem I see in the article is how lengthy it is. Certainly, the descriptions and organization in the writing helped in understanding it. However, because the whole article, excluding the annexes & bibliography, is 15 pages long, a reader may lose interest in the middle of, maybe, A Historical Perspective. Personally, I don’t think this part is even helpful in explaining the value of conflict assessment to stakeholders.

Mediator Insight: Disputants’ Perceptions of Third Parties’ Knowledge and Its Effect on Mediated Negotiation

This article also presents the results of the research. However, unlike the first one which centered on the process of negotiation, this paper focuses on the parties involved in the conflict. Attention is focused on how the level of information mediator have on the issue affects the disputants’ perceptions & behaviors. Instead of an actual situation, this research is based on experiments with variations on the mediator’s recommendations and the information given to disputants representing how much mediators knew about the disputants’ needs and interests. The introduction explains a) the mediation process, b) the relation between the mediator’s credibility & their level of insight on the dispute, and c) the hypotheses to be tested. It goes on to describe the different elements of the experiment & the results. The paper also gives the writer’s recommendations on similar future researches. For the discussion and concluding part, the article explains why peer mediation, such as someone in the company who has much insight on the dispute, is usually more favorable than a formal 3rd party mediator with limited insight. It also, however, presents the limitations of peer mediation & the circumstances of the study. What’s not good about this article is how too informative it was. There were just too many paragraphs, formulas within the paragraphs & vocabulary to absorb. Again, I am not positive if the reader will appreciate the article’s verbosity. As for its strength, for me, it is the use of visuals (e.g. Figure 1). Although it adds to the length of the article, the figures render a sense of conciseness to the piece. With an article this wordy, the diagrams & tables were a big help to me in following the explanations.
