Indeed money can buy power though it is always the cause of many problems.

The Pharisees were considered the great spiritual leaders among the Jews because they gave interpretation on the Laws of Moses and were a link between people and God. The Sadducees were people who constantly rejected the laws yet they claimed to lead priestly lives (Jewish Virtual Library). Jesus condemns them for misleading the common people, “You Pharisees and teachers of the law of Moses are in for trouble! You’re nothing but show-offs. You lock people out of the kingdom of heaven. You won’t go in yourselves, and you keep others from going in” ( Mathew 23: 13-14). Through this, it is true how Pharisees denied people from going to heaven since they enjoyed monopoly power. They knew people were so dependent on them in guidance of their spiritual lives.

Conclusion

Monopoly power, according to the Bible is a worldly treasure that will deny many people a chance to enter heaven. According to Jesus, most people used such opportunities in accumulating material wealth instead of putting all their treasures in heaven. As a lesson, it is very important to consider what Jesus said and be on the move to change, repent and give the less fortunate people right and meaningful information.

When a person only thinks of his or her own profit and tries as much as possible to benefit their interest in expense of some people, at the end what is incurred is hatred, disowned and possibly death, like in the case of the ape. The story talks about the relationship that existed between the crab and the ape, which are the main characters from good to bad, which in the end included death. Throughout the liaison, the ape always regarded the crab as an arbitrary creature, probably from the size of its body and the advantages it had over the crab, for instance climbing up the tree. At the end, it is the crab ending the life of the ape with help from his friends.

This story can depict several themes. They include theme of hatred whereby everyone turns to hate the ape after what he did. Another item shown is the theme of love and unity as through this. the ape can be punished. A critical analysis of this paper is, therefore, how a person lays up in the hearts any possible solutions that arises in a relationship and teaches good will as a lesson that is profitable to others. This constitutes to unity, harmony, and love.

Love and peace are virtues that bring people together in any association (Wiggins, 2007).The crab and the ape were united. Love is enough on one side as in the case of the ape, he thought they were still in a good relationship with the crab, and that is why he accepted to come down from the tree.

This is according to Dutton, 2012, who further insinuates that problems’ do exist in any association but the best solution is not to have self-gain over the existing advantage, rather a more precise approach benefiting both parties should apply.

Hello, I am looking for someone to write an article on Government and Religion. It needs to be at least 250 words. This is so even if the culture and religion are so much intertwined such that they cannot be separated and religion is the major thing in every piece of life in the society. State and religion vary and in the way, they influence each other. Political power can instigate certain actions, but religion is the one that offers these actions the moral legitimacy (Brown-Foster and Goldstein, 2010).

In the formation of a government that has many religious factions, these factors must be taken into consideration. It is imperative for the country to balance the opinions of the different religions and integrate them in the formation of the government. This is because the relationship between the government and the religion is very fluid. the religion and/or the political change in response to history and its interpretation. According to Brown-Foster and Goldstein (2010), circumstance and history determine the evolvement of the relationship between the state and the religion.

The institutions should be set up in a way that they do not have certain privileges within the constitution but the freedom of worship privately should be given.&nbsp.

Write a 2 pages paper on disscusion. Part Discussion I found this picture very nice, with some very fine details, but some flaws as well. First of all, the picture clearly seems to be from the early 20th century because of many reasons including the old hairstyles of the characters, turkey being served in the dish, and family gathering on the dining table placed inside the home. Today, hairstyles look much different with boys keeping spikes and women having shoulder-length hair and keeping them open. Today, most families dine in open areas like lawns or gardens and have Bar B Que rather than eating roasted turkey. Moreover, today cooking is not reserved for women only. all family members participate and enjoy doing the activity when it comes to special occasions. One flaw in the picture that I notice is that none of the family members except the grandfather is looking at the grandmother or the turkey. Everybody is looking at one another as if there are things more important elsewhere around rather than grandmother or the turkey. which I think is not fine because the grandmother does deserve immense appreciation and honor for doing the family this service. The best part of the picture is the grandfather who has indeed stood up to express his thanks to the grandmother.

Part 2: Response

This was a very wonderful exercise that let me think critically for a while and both appreciate and criticize the various elements of the picture. I liked the concept as a whole. I must say that the picture has preserved the norms and values of the old American family. The concept of family is so integral and fundamental to the cultivation of norms and values in the society that I am amazed how, as a society, could we compromise upon the sustenance of family the way it appears in the picture! Our attempt to be modern has deprived us of the blessings we had in the past including the togetherness, the union, the love and affection among the family members, and most importantly the mesmerizing smell of roasted turkey wafting through the home on Christmas. Even the hairstyles looked so decent and elegant. it seemed like everybody has applied a little oil in the hair to manage that better. Women looked so elegant with hair tied up in a bun. These days, people have gone wild in the name of fashion. Hairs have gone pink and blue and spiky.

Supermax Prisons The article, “From Alcatraz to Marion to Florence – Control Unit Prisons in the United s” is a very enlightening piece of material about the history of supermax prison in the United States. It gives a description of the ongoing conditions at USP Marion. It provides information on the replacement of Marion to a control unit prison in Florence, Colorado. The article revealed that all over the US, a number of state prisons have mimicked the Marion.

The control unit prison’s defining features were enumerated to better understand these supermax prisons (Committee to End the Marion Lockdown (CEML) , par 2). The first feature of a control unit prison is that prisoners are kept in solitary confinement in tiny cells and they do not have the privilege of congregate dining, exercise, religious services and there are no work opportunities (CEML, par 2). Control unit prisons do not have official policies regarding their restrictions. Furthermore, the punishments inflicted on the prisoners are made in the guise of administrative measures (CEML, par 2).

Reading through the article, one cannot help but feel pity for the prisoners of these control unit prisons. One was not aware that there is a proliferation of human rights violation inside the control units. The cruelty and brutality of the physical as well as psychological tortures imposed on the prisoners are beyond one’s imagination. Aside from the abuse that the prisoners suffer from the prison guards, there is no intention of rehabilitation in these control units. What is even more surprising is that many prisons in several states in the US have emulated the inhuman conditions that have prevailed in the Marion prison. According to prison officials, the spread of the control units all over the US is due to three reasons. They claim that the control units contain the most violent prisoners who need to be separated from other prisons (CEML, par 40). They go on further to say that violence is reduced because the most violent person is isolated. Lastly, prison officials argue that security can be minimized at the other prisons because of the reduction of violence brought about by the absence of the worst prisoners (CEML, par 40).

As if the government was not satisfied with the ruthlessness in the Marion, it even created a replacement that boasts of tighter control for prisoners. The Florence prison is supposed to possess a “state of the art technology” with electronic doors, cameras and audio equipment (CEML, par 28). Human contact with prisoners will be placed at a minimum. What is even more alarming is that the area where the prison is located is “extensively radioactively contaminated” (CEML, par 30).

Another interesting view presented in the article is about the higher rate of incarceration among colored race as against the number of white men (CEML, par 55). This high percentage is attributed to the racism that exists in the criminal justice system (CEML, par 57).

One is really struck by the idea espoused by the author that “prisons do not reduce crime” (CEML, par 61). One is in agreement with the author that the supermax prisons violate prisoner’s rights. The prison system must be revised to put an end to the proliferation of oppression towards prisoners. It is a total disregard to the human dignity of the incarcerated individual.
