Fraudulent Billing, health and medical assignment

I need help with a Health & Medical question. All explanations and answers will be used to help me learn.

Dr. Pearson has recently been hired into the Central City Internal Medicine Group as its fifth physician. He has recently completed his residency and is eager to enter private practice. Dr. Pearson is introduced to Meredith and Dawn, two members of the billing staff for the practice. Unbeknownst to Dr. Pearson, Meredith financially assists the practice in several ways. She bills procedures by using individual codes instead of comprehensive codes, she has decided to bill Dr. Pearson’s services under the Medicare number of Dr. Craig (another Central City physician) until Dr. Pearson’s credentialing process has been completed, and habitually submits a claim more than once if she isn’t sure whether or not it has already been submitted.

Name the types of fraudulent billing that Meredith is conducting. (Name the specific Act)
Could Meredith be held liable for these activities?
Is Dr. Pearson subject to liability although he doesn’t know Meredith is conducting these activities? (Is Dr. Pearson responsible for the behavior of his staff?)
Once Meredith’s activities are discovered, how should her conduct be addressed by her employer, Central City Internal Medicine? (What action might her supervisor take against Meredith? Consider what she learned as a new employee)
What should Central City do to ensure these types of problems don’t occur in the future? (Look at it from a perspective of new hires. What should be done so they know this type of action is wrong?)

Discussion questions

For this assignment, you will review the latest evidence based guidelines as they pertain to the case below. At least 5 references not older than 5 years old. APA format

Ms. Martin is a 55-year-old woman who has been on HRT for 4 years. HRT was prescribed because Ms. Martin was experiencing vasomotor symptoms associated with menopause. She had a tubal ligation after the birth of her third child but has had no other surgeries or history of any medical conditions. Her father had cardiovascular disease and died of a myocardial infarction at 77 years of age. Her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer at 81 years of age. Each article analysis assignment is a very current Wall Street Journal article relevant to chapters we will be studying, as an attempt to make the connection between textbook theory and real world happenings.   You can find the reading and questions in the link below. At the end of each reading are four questions to be answered pertaining to the article (10 points per question), which require short answers.

Most information needed to answer the questions will come directly from the article.  However, for the written answers, please paraphrase, i.e. restate in your own words.  There is no word count requirement per answer.  You will be able to submit the completed assignment here in this same assignment link. After you’ve answered the questions, save your document in the MSWord Document Format of <.doc> or <.docx>.  Please name and submit in the Submit Assignmentlink to the right in the following form – first list the name of the assignment (e.g. AA1 for the first article analysis assignment), then your last name, with no spaces. Use the case study from Week 2.

Read the following case study.

You are a staff nurse working in an intensive care unit and assigned to care for a 75-year-old man who had coronary artery bypass graft surgery four days ago. The patient has a history of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbated by heavy smoking. His postoperative course has been difficult, and he has suffered a number of setbacks. Staff members, despite their diligent efforts, have not been able to wean him off the ventilator since the surgery. He has required frequent suctioning throughout the shift, and he is being evaluated for the development of ventilator-associated pneumonia.

Today, when returning from lunch, you observed that an experienced nurse was suctioning your patient. His secretions were thick, and you observed that the nurse was instilling saline into the patient’s endotracheal tube as she was suctioning him. The patient turned red and began coughing, and it was obvious he was in distress.

You asked the nurse why she was instilling saline into his endotracheal tube. She replied that this was being done to loosen the secretions. You told her this was no longer an acceptable practice. She stated that she many years of critical care experience and she didn’t care what anyone said, that the only way you could loosen the patient’s secretions would be to instill saline. She also said that would be the last time she would do something for one of your patients while you were at lunch.

Outline the strategies you will use to search for evidence related to best practices for suctioning and whether the instillation of saline while suctioning is an acceptable technique.

Search for evidence related to best practices and provide a summary of all evidence.

Develop a PICO question for the instillation of saline during endotracheal suctioning.

Consider how you could apply PICO to problems in the workplace to influence things in clinical practice.

Submit your search strategies, search results, and PICO question and application to clinical practice as one of the following:

Nursing Education Practicum Documentation, health and medicine homework help

I’m studying for my Health & Medical class and need an explanation.

Nursing Education Practicum Documentation

Using the “Nursing Education Practicum Documentation (NEPD) Form,” write goals of what you will accomplish in this topic and how you will evaluate your accomplishment.

Be sure to read the instructions (in blue font at the top of the columns on the first page) on how to use the form before you begin. The NEPD form uses the nursing process and follows the format of a nursing care plan, so this should be familiar to you.

Refer to materials from previous courses in the nursing education track to be sure that your goals are written appropriately.

The written goals, resources, and criteria for evaluation columns (first three columns) must be written prior to the clinical experience for the topic.

Complete the fourth column (evaluation) at the end of each topic’s clinical experience as you evaluate how you met the goals you wrote.

APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.

(My practicum site will be in a hospital setting as a clinical educator, so pleas help me to complete this assignment)Thanks.
